UK's Midnight Madness

Featured Replies

Moved up a week to Oct. 10th, that means John Wall will be there! Also means UK should end up with other recruits there because they aren't having it on the same days as other schools. Should be interesting to see who Gillispie and staff get there, hopefully Barnes and Orten will be there.

WLEX reported last night that John Wall won't be visiting UK. I don't know who to believe.

How can UK have MM a week before everyone else?

Are the tickets also going to be on ticket master this year?

Starting in mid September, a school can start practicing it's players in individual workouts for 45 minutes three times a week (something close to that, if that's not totally accurate). They can not have more than 4 players doing these workouts at a time. Most schools always choose to do the indvidual work.

HOWEVER, a school can forego the individual workouts and choose to do a 2 hour full team practice if they wish. This allows the team to come together as a unit for 2 hours per week. Some teams will do this once, but most of them will work on individual stuff until the first official practice can be done.

It seems as if BCG has determined that it will be a HUGE advantage if he replaces the 3 individual practices for each player and just does a Big Blue Madness with that 2 hour option. This allows for a TON of top prospects to be at UK's BBM and not have to compete with ANY OTHER school for visits.

This is from Mark Maggard.

From a recruiting standpoint that seems like a homerun of an idea.

Will any other schools change thier plans to match this, and try to lure a recruit or two away that might visit here?

So will Wall be there, or not? And when is this?

Wall is supposed to be there, October 10th. UK plays South Carolina in football that day and Keeneland is open, should be a good day and night!

Orton, Hood and Pilgram would make it a great class coming in next year.

Sounds like quite an innovative idea from BCG. Tubby would have never thought of something like this. Hopefully it will pay big dividends.
