Nice win for the 'Neers!

Great win Estill, Keep chopping that wood.

Dominating performance by the Engineers, Pineville scored with less than two minutes to go. Estill's starters sat the 4th, and the junior varsity had two fumbles in the last quarter, that led to the Pineville score. Estill had around 370 yards on the ground.

Rushing Breakdown

Benedict - 182 yds.

Roberts - 74 yds.

Covey - 72 yds.

Very impressive game defensively as well, Senior DE Tyler Walling had around 8 tackles along with 3 sacks and a fumble recovery.

I'm anxious to see if Estill County can challenge Breathitt County for a district title. They seemingly should be on par, or slightly ahead of Harlan County this year.

Don't think that Pineville gave Estill a very good test. EC must continue to get bettter in order to compete with Breathitt.

Somebody told me they thought that Merrick got hurt last night does anyone know?

I'm anxious to see if Estill County can challenge Breathitt County for a district title. They seemingly should be on par, or slightly ahead of Harlan County this year.

Harlan played pretty well in defeat last night so I think the Estill/Harlan game will be a good one for sure. Breathitt also went down to Johnson Central but no disgrace in that, JC is a powerhouse.

Yeah, it was Al Merrick. Talked to his brother, Monte, that kicks for us. It seems he had a dislocated shoulder on a failed punt attempt. Went to hospital ER after game. Is in sling and out for a while. Don't know what happened. Evidently it was a pileup or something.

In my opinion both teams were better than last year, not sure what was expected. Estill had 6 fumbles last year, five of which resulted in turnovers and only lost by 6. Estill's 3 headed rushing attack couldn't be stopped, and the defense looks to be greatly improved from last season.

Think Pineville was not as good as Estill expected. Pineville got luck last year it sounds like to me
