Sounds like Russell is ready for another good season. Congratulation to them and I know they will do well.

 

Greenup County had a rough start, I expect them to get better as the season goes on. Greenup County has some good football players, I know they will step up and be ready for the next opponent. I feel confident that Coach Sammons will do everything he can to get them prepared. Good luck to Greenup in the remainder of the season.

Another embarassing GC vs Russell game for GC, I dont know how we can watch the same offense run the same plays for 30 years and not come up with a better defense to stop Russell. P.S. What happened to Mcglone being a class act and not running up the score? He was up by 30 in the forth and throwing the ball deep. Russell throwing the ball at all is always a rare thing, and the were throwing bombs in the forth up big.

 

I can see where you have some concern! But Russell had there starters out half way through the third quarter on! I was more concerned for Greenup,! not being able to score on the Russell subs though!

The only other choice Russell could have done not to score so many points was to put the JFL in.

This was not Greenup at its best. Russell showed who's the better team on the first drive of the game by smacking Greenup in the mouth and scoring. After this Greenup was in defense mode instead of attack mode.

 

Russell seemed in there comfort zone all night! Greenup on the other hand made many costly mistakes and penalties. Good job to Russell on a great win!

Good win for Russell. But this is not the power house team that Russell has had in the past. It might very well be the quickest team they have had in awhile. Look forward to the Mason Co. game. With the schedule that Russell plays this might be their first real test. Abrams is a player!!!!

I know sometimes McGlone will grind out the clock when ahead but other times he will use the rest of the game as a practice. Trying plays and testing recievers. I did see alot of clean jersey in also.

Greenup will be fine I think! Just the type of offense they run is more geared for college players. Every year it is tough to teach new players to adapt to spread offense, it takes timing to perfect that type of offense! GOOD LUCK MUSKETEERS!!

They have a great feeder program!! Russell JFL is a long existing program that cant be rivaled anywhere. Our numbers are down as is most other football prgrams around the country, But quality is still there! I am sure that 99 percent of Russell players have played up through the RJFL program!! Probably the only thing that has changed much through the years execpt the numbers is we now have 7 & 8 grade teams, in the past that wasnt so! I hope I have answered your question, and maybe somone else can help out also!! Also ou middle school programs are flourishing right now. We have some really nice looking young ball players coming up right now!!!!

7years old they start pads. They play intramural and also against other area JFL teams.
