Google Earth Street View

Featured Replies

Has anyone seen this new feature of Google Earth? It literally takes you onto street level and gives you a 360 degree view of the surroundings, just like you're standing in the street. I can look at the front of my house and see my car sitting in outside. It's wild. A whole new level of technology.

I need to look at that again. I cut a bush down in the front yard, and I'd love to see if it made my house look better. :D

Yeah, I use it a lot. They only have certain metro areas covered though. Our area is still only partially covered. Louisville is pretty solidly covered.

It's good...but it ain't THAT good.

But maybe you could call them and have them do another drive-by, "post-bush."

Is it part of the demo version or trial version, or is it the version you need to pay for?

Is there a link for this?

No, it's in the newest free version.

Is there a link for this?

Once you install the free version, you can then put in an address and play around with the different options. I have found it to be just invaluable when planning to travel.

Thanks. :thumb:

Wouldn't it be cool and creepy at the same time, if it was real time? I mean, let's say I was thinking about going to the park. Before I left my house, I could google earth the park, zip around cyberly, and if all I saw were a bunch of losers, I could skip the park that day. :D It would sure save me a little trek.

The street view works on Google Maps as well and you don't have to download anything.

Yeah, I didn't even know there was anything to download. I just use it right off the main Google screen.

The street view is only available in certain regions of KY and many other states..It's pretty cool to look at though!

It's pretty cool where it does work though, I can read my license plate...
