August 28, 200818 yr I agree. While Cantwell is solid U of L fans seem to forget that they lost a great player in Brian Brohm. People seem to think that Tom Brady is lining up at QB for the Cards. Yeah, I've seen some smack talk about Brohm from UofL fans oddly enough, who now think they've got the better end of the deal. I like to think I'm a realist, what I say is this: Brohm was THE MAN, and had the stats to back it up. Cantwell is now in position to be THE MAN, and has limited but very good highlights that show he's capable of being so. Better than Brohm? I honestly doubt it. But he'll be a worthy followup.
August 28, 200818 yr QB is my biggest worry for UK. Hartline has zero experience. Along with that, his first start will be against an instate rival at their place. A combination of those things could equal a long day for him and UK. Hartline's given me no reason to have any confidence in him. He's also given me no reason to doubt him. You gotta give the guy a chance to step up and take care of business I suppose.
August 28, 200818 yr Maybe not the biggest, but everyone knows there will be a QB drop off from Brohm. The question is how well will Cantwell do over a season? Whenever you have a new QB, it is a big question IMO. I agree. While Cantwell is solid U of L fans seem to forget that they lost a great player in Brian Brohm. People seem to think that Tom Brady is lining up at QB for the Cards. Nobody thinks Brady will be lining up against the Cats on Sunday or that Cantwell will be better than Brohm right off the bat for that matter. But Cantwell has played in bigger games and against better defenses than UK and did just fine. He is the absolute smallest problem for the entire UofL squad, offense or defense.
August 29, 200818 yr QB is far from UL's biggest concern. Are you kidding me, Hunter had 5 or six quality starts when brohm was out. If any QB is of concern it is most deff UK's. He has absolutely no real game experience and it will be especially tough in hostile enviroment at Papa Johns.

August 29, 200818 yr It has to be UofL's secondary vs. UK receivers. Whomever comes out on top in this particular category will win this football game. I think Dicky Lyons and Domoreo Ford will lead these Cats to a win.
August 29, 200818 yr UK's running backs can help out in the passing game with their ability to catch balls out of the backfield. Also Conner can help with protection and Ford is an excellent blocker, hopefully he will play. I agree. They can help. But they still need Hartline to play well at QB and they need at least one player to step up and fill the spot opposite Lyons, at a minimum. Those are two unknowns until we see the team in action.
August 29, 200818 yr I think the most important issue is "Can UK run the ball effectively?" If so, I believe UK will win. U of L will stack the box and do everything to force UK to throw the ball. If the 'Cats don't rush for 150-200 yards, chalk one up for the Cards.
August 29, 200818 yr Looks like LT Walker will not be 100% if he plays at all. DT has to be a big concern for UL as they are down to 3.
