I'm extremely skeptical that any team would want damaged goods like Rudi, let alone trading a decent WR for him. If any team needs an RB that badly, there are plenty of guys available on the cheap in the FA market. RBs are a dime a dozen.

I think the Bengals would love to shop him for a big WR. I would love to have $1,000,000 but it's probably not happening. Wishful thinking on the Bengals part IMO unless they throw in some cash or picks etc. It's not happening straight up.

They want a star WR but they won't get one for just Rudy. They should have listened too me in the off season when I said trade Chad for Hayensworth + Rudi + cash or a draft pick for R. Williams. We would have R. Williams and Hayensworth instead of an injured basketcase + what should be the Bengals 3rd string RB.

Every team involved needs to move their guys and get something out of them. The Lions + Bengals are dumb so they will probably just lose their guys for nothing. The Titans have a solid franchise but they have painted themselves in a corner IMO with Albert.

As for Rudi, realistically, who might be interested in him?

 

The Texans need a RB, but they've got 4 guys they're looking at right now, so I doubt they'd want to bring another one in.

 

The Broncos will be depending on Selvin Young and Andre Hall with rookie Ryan Torain out for a while.

 

Detroit has rookie Kevin Smith and Tatum Bell. It's possible they'd be interested, but Furrey or McDonald would be the best Cincy could hope for. Actually, that would be a pretty good deal for the Bengals.

 

The Bears are similar to the Texans.

Could this make it any more clearer that the Bengals need a GM. Mike Brown has offered teams a guy who is coming off an injury plagued 2007 and hasn't played a down this year. For a "proven" wide reciever. Can you imagine the conversations?

You may be right about Detroit trading for him before the draft. I don't think Roy Williams would have been available though. It still would have been Furrey or McDonald, which would have been a good trade for both teams.

 

However, had Cincy made a move like that, they'd have probably drafted Rashard Mendenhall with the ninth pick.

I think the report that he Bengals are shopping Rudi is the reason...not the fact that he's sitting out.

 

Personally, I think it would speak more to the fact that they're confident in Perry and Watson and not confident in the WR situation.

 

Regardless, I don't think there is much of a market for Rudi right now. Most teams are set at RB, and the ones that aren't don't need to add another ? to 3 or 4 they already have.

I really don't think it matters who the Bengals RB is. The key is having at least two of them healthy, IMO. Their success, or lack of, will be determined by how the offensive line plays.

 

If the line plays well, the running game will be productive because 1) the line will be playing well and opening up holes:lol: and 2) the passing game will take pressure away from the backs.

 

Watson proved last year that he can be productive. Rudi had been very good prior to last year. And, Perry may be the most talented of the three when healthy.

 

In that "best case" scenario, I think any of the three could give the Bengals what they need in the backfield.
