Never happen. How many games has Pineville won in the last few years and who have they beat?

 

LC has basically Zero offense coming back and with out their QB and at least 3 other starters out, I would be very surprised it they can score with the Mt Lions. There are not very many teams that can lose this many starters and not miss a beat, especially a small class A team. Lucky for LC this is a scrimmage and hopefully these players will be ready to play next week but I was told it was not likely.

I understand what you are saying but Pineville hasn't beat anybody in years and when is the last time they beat LC? I am sorry but I don't see it that way at all. They haven't beat anybody in years that had a winning record.

Pineville beat the Cats the year they won the district. It was one of the years neither S'et or M'boro was in district. LC is banged up somewhat and the QB is definitely out. Starting center is out and possibly a starting tackle. Same backs from last year and a freshman back in for the game. Also, flu-bug has hit the Cats hard in the last 2 weeks.

Cat, I really don't think Bubba blasted us that hard. If we do what we did a couple of times this summer, it could be a short game. Not going to be tolerated.:madman:

Also, I thought the same thing when Dave told me that the flu had a couple of kids down. The flu does it's thing every year, but the summertime flu is almost never heard of.:scared:

When Pineville won the district that was back when the wheel was invented wasn't it?

Our son was playing, so I believe it was 2000 or 2001. They (Pineville) had a good team that took Hazard to OT but lost in the first round of the playoffs.

 

Pineville used to be one of the giants in mountain football. 1st game Corbin ever played was against Pineville, I think. Pineville won HUGE. You would have to get some Corbin alumnus to give you the exact score, but it was something outrageous like 122-0. (No exageration. I think Pineville scored over 100 points against a few teams in the day.)

I would say that they would like to have some of those teams now. I just thik Pineville will have a hard time ever getting back to that level again.

Yes, they would have a high hill to climb to get back even modestly. Bell County coming into being hurt Pineville forever. To be brutally honest, the district was down that year, even with the big dogs out of it for a couple of seasons(M'boro/S'set). They still had a decent team the year they won the district and beat up on what would become the core team of our Regional Title in '03. They are in a tough spot in the district they are in now. I think Elam can get them competitive, but I don't see him making them consistent.

Years ago city schools had huge advatages over Co. schools. Such as facilities and transportation to and from practice. Today that gap is much closer.

Who all is out for Lynn Camp. I'd like to hear the story.

In my playing days we would much rather play Bell than Pineville. They had some outstanding teams in the days of the Bishop brothers and the Woolums, etc.

 

I would not rule out a return to power, regardless of what Bell does. Single A schools can be turned around with far fewer quality players than what a larger school would need. Look at Lynn Camp with a roster that many years boasts only 20 to 30 players with a third of those being frosh.

I'm hearing Bart Elam is very popular among the Pineville administration and the parents. He works hard and is a good football mind. Don't write this program off just yet.

J. Mitchell for sure. Austin Peters for sure. QB and Center. Both have broken bones. Peters may have an outside chance in a week or two and orthopedics will have the final say on Mitchell. Rickett and Rice have been ill. One is the backup center, one is the backup backup center. Both play on the line when the other is up front. 2 or 3 others banged up pretty good on the line. Anything else you would like to know? We have been hit hard the last 2 weeks. If I were sandbagging, it would not be in a scrimmage and would not be against Pineville.
