If LC can keep their composure they should win easily. If they loose their cool, then the Lions may get a win via forfeit.

Last year Pineville's JV which are all now starters....just about....took Lynn Camp "to the woodshed" on their own field! Look for a really good scrimmage!

LC should be fine on both fronts.

I was told that LC's QB Jonah Mitchell had surgery on his hand. I wonder how long he will be out?

This is a scrimmage. If either team gets all concerned about winning, it could cost them in terms of injuries, giving scouts something to look at, and failure to find playing time for second line players.

 

I wouldn't be too worried about correcting some percieved BGP slight in a practice game.

I realize this is only a practice game, but IMO anytime a player steps across the lines to play any sport they better be ready to go full speed or something bad may happen. LC should be able to handle the Mt. Lions.

Yeah I agree this houldn't be a problem for Lynn Camp. LC is more physical than Pineville. Pineville passes and Lc will run it down your throat.

I never said they wouldn't play hard. Just that most coaches are smart enough not to show their hand in a preseason scrimmage. Winner of a scrimmage means nothing.

I understand what you are saying, but if they use the scoreboard it will mean at least a little something. IMO practice, scrimmage, or game an athlete should go 100%.

It means something to kids whenever they play another school. It's just a scrimmage, but it is their only game against Pineville this year, too. You want to win them all, count for something or not!

Win or not it won't count either way. They will still be 0-0 for next week. Most teams don't prepare for a scrimmage like a game. I geuss if your Pineville you will take them any way you can get them.

Then why play it? There are a LOT of coaches that prepare very well for scrimmages without tipping their hand. You do not want to go out and suck up the field. There are many things you want to try and fine tune, players you want to try and move around and I still think most teams want to win, count or not. Sometimes it can help jump start a season when you beat a team in a pre-season scrimmage that you were not supposed to. It all depends on the team and the coach, I guess.
