August 20, 200818 yr It seems like just yesterday that I was posting pictures of my newborn twins. They started their 1st day of Kindergarten today. It was a tough day for daddy. Here are a few pictures. You certainly have been blessed with a beautiful family. As everyone has stated, cherish every second with them because time goes by very quickly. Hats off to you for being a father who cares!!:thumb:
August 20, 200818 yr LRCW, those are some great pics. Thanks for sharing, you have a great family and are so blessed. I am also very glad that the kids look alot like their mother . Looks like the kids are going to be fine with this, I don't know how you are going to hold up though, lol. Hang in there and as all others have said....enjoy these years. :thumb:
August 20, 200818 yr I vividly remember my oldest child's first day of kindergarten. Last year my 3 started middle school, high school and college. Get ready for 13 years to blow by. Good luck.
August 20, 200818 yr Sean and Chloe outside their classroom. My son's name is Sean. It's ironic I saw this today as it is his first day of school for his SENIOR year in High School. As a result, I wrote this newsletter article for our church newsletter: “Back to School” I remember it well. It was this same time of year, 1995. My son (only child at the time) was heading off to school. First day of Kindergarten. To be honest, I felt relieved. For about a year and a half, Sean was my charge. He would hang with me most days as I worked in the office at North Pamunkey, or visited people in the church. I would drop him off in the mornings at the Orange Cooperative Preschool and he would be there from 9 until 12. In the afternoons he was all mine until Susan got home. That first day of school he was walking out the door with his “Little Bear” backpack and he turned to wave goodbye to me as I stood in the kitchen. He was riding with Mom to “Big School” that day. As he turned to wave he stopped and came over to give me a hug. “I’ll miss you Daddy.” Then he was off to a new world and a new beginning. It’s been 13 years and this morning I dropped Sean off at school as I’ve done a zillion times before. This time it was a little different. Sean is beginning his Senior year and while his Mother and I note that, he seems ambivalent to the thought. Unlike the hug and goodbye of 13 years ago, this time he was carrying a large, unmarked book bag. (I’d offer him the “Little Bear” book bag if it still existed.) He rolled out of the car and grunted more than said goodbye this time. Jim Croce once sang about saving “Time in a Bottle.” It makes for great lyrics but it’s not reality. The reality is that time is not static, it moves and flows and there is nothing you can do about it. We can pine, reminisce, recall and even mourn what has been; but there is still another day, another first, another new beginning at every corner. That’s life and life is what God has created and given. So I, and you, must celebrate it while it’s here. I pray for a good year for the teachers and students out there. I pray for a moment of thanks to be uttered by all parents who are sending their children off to another first day. Cherish it, relish it, and store it in your memory banks. Most of all give thanks for it when it’s there. Because it will change, sooner than you ever thought. Hope you cherish each day and year. Hatz
August 20, 200818 yr Now I am starting to feel really old as I can remember when they both were born and pictures put on here congrats and good luck. JD
August 20, 200818 yr Nice pictures LRCW, they grow fast, it won't be long until you are looking eye to eye with your son and boys are looking at your daughter in ways that you don't like. Trust me, the latter one will cause ill thoughts, and the previous one will scare you.
