August 15, 200818 yr I enjoy doing this, so I figured I'd post my 2008 predictions and let the rest of you experts tear them apart. August 15, 200818 yr Author Last year, I was 5 for 8 picking division champs. I was 50% on playoff teams. My best pick was picking the Packers to win the NFC North. Here are a few interesting misses... New York Giants 5-11 vs. 10-6 (Super Bowl Champ) Cincinnati Bengals 11-5 vs. 7-9 Baltimore Ravens 10-6 vs. 5-11 Tennessee Titans 6-10 vs. 10-6 Denver Broncos 13-3 vs. 7-9 Hopefully, I'll fare better this time around.
August 15, 200818 yr While the Vikings have a good team, I'm not ready to jump on their bandwagon. I don't think they'll make it to the NFC Championship. I think the Cowboys will have another good year, and choke once again in the playoffs. I think the Giants will have a very tough time repeating, but they do have a shot. I don't think the Chargers are the best team in the AFC, let alone the NFL. I think the Colts and Pats are better. I don't think the Bengals will win their division. I think the Steelers will run away with it this year, with the Browns in 2nd. I think the Bills will be better than the Jets.
August 15, 200818 yr AFC East 1. New England Patriots 2. New York Jets 3. Buffalo Bills 4. Miami Dolphins AFC North 1. Cleveland Browns 2. Pittsburgh Steelers 3. Cincinnati Bengals 4. San Francisco 49ers Playoffs Wild Card Round Titans over Jets, Jaguars over Steelers Philly over Seahawks , Packers over Skins Divisional Round Chargers over Jags, Colts over Patriots Cowboys over Vikings, Saints over Philly Conference Championship Colts over Chargers Cowboys over Saints Super Bowl Cowboys over Colts I had the Saints over the Chargers in the championships but Rivers and Duece injured shyed me away. I really think there are a lot of folks drinking the Chargers + Jags (I said last year and got killed on here that they would make a run) are capable of knocking off the Pats/Colts but until they do it's hard to give it too them. The Giants/Skins/Eagles/Cowboys (the NFC favorite by almost everybody) all could win their division or finish last in it. The Bucs aren't far from making noise and neither is Minny or G.B. I think the Saints are the team to keep an eye on this year (stick's sleeper to go deep).

The Redskins have huge question marks at Quarterback, and then at wide receiver as well. They also have a new coach coming in, so it will take time to adjust to the new system. The Eagles have questions at QB as well. Can McNabb play well? Can he stay healthy? Do they have any good wide receivers other than Curtis? Is he a legit #1 receiver? The Cowboys are the most talented team, but they can't seem to get over the hump. They haven't won playoff game in over a decade.

You can't help but throw that in every time you talk about the Cowboys can you.

August 16, 200818 yr :lol: Yeah, it's such a crazy prediction. They just won the super bowl last year. No big deal...

August 17, 200818 yr Author Bengals will not win the division let alone win 9 games. Nine wins will be enough in the AFC North. Here's why I don't like Pittsburgh in 2008 (their schedule outside the division)... Home Games: Houston, NYGiants, Indianapolis, San Diego, Dallas Road Games: Philadelphia, Jacksonville, Washington, New England, Tennessee Of 10 games outside the division, 8 are against playoff teams. Houston is getting better and Philadelphia is talented enough to be a playoff team when healthy. At home, they play the defending Super Bowl champs and three of the very best teams in the NFL. On the road, they get two of the best. In contrast, the Bengals get the Jets and Chiefs instead of the Patriots and Chargers. In addition, they get more of the tougher games on the road, meaning they get the more winnable ones at home. I'll be surprised if Pittsburgh can run away with the AFC North against that schedule. They'll have to own their divisional opponents at home and on the road because five wins outside the division is the best they could do, IMO. And, I doubt they can do that.

The Cowboys are the most talented team, but they can't seem to get over the hump. They haven't won playoff game in over a decade. McNabb is primed for a huge year IMO and Kolb has looked really good if he does go down. They have arguably the best secondary now in the NFL. I think they got even better as a team in the off season. The Skins drafted a lot of talent and brought one of the best pass rushers in the game in. I like the choice at coach + the players seem to have really gotten in his corner so I'm not real worried about that. Cambell is a question mark but I have a faith that he will have a nice year under one of the best QB coaches in the game. The Cowboys are probably THE most talented team in the NFC.... agree or disagree? I don't really care about the past, this is this year. The Giants did win the Super Bowl last year but IMO they weren't the best team in football, much like the Steelers a few years back I think they got hot at the right time which is all you have to do once you get in the playoffs. They lost Strahan + Shockey so they got worse IMO. I still think they have one of the best teams in football but the division is brutal + I ranked that Division the way I feel like it will go down. I'm sure there aren't many that are going to predict that but that's my gut feeling. We'll see. I will say that I think they got maybe the steal in the draft with Phillips! I wouldn't be suprised to see him + Claddy win the rookies of the year!
August 17, 200818 yr The Bills are another team under the radar to keep an eye on this year IMO if their LT will get in camp!
