Perhaps a bit more complete than 'Tight Knit' Bon Iver - 'For Emma, Forever ago' - (Wisconsin dude Justin Vernon pinned himself up in a log cabin after a girl breakup and poured his heart out with an unusual, grows on you, kind of falsetto voice). Wasn't sure at first, but starting to dig it. Winter time cabin fever CD. Ben Sollee & Daniel Martin Moore - 'Dear Companion - Daniel is a 2000 grad of Campbell County High School and used to work at A.J. Jolly Golf Course. He has a great voice and his first release on Sub Pop records (Same label Nirvana was on) 'Stray Age' is unbelievably fantastic. This current release is with Ben Sollee from Louisville (also on Sub Pop records) and is produced by Jim James of My Morning Jacket. They are both trying to bring awareness to the destructive nature of mountain top removal in the Appalachians. Ben Sollee drives his folk tunes with a cello and has already been on Jimmy Kimmel. This is a folky CD and they are presently on tour in support of it.

I need to check out Dear Companion soon. If I have time I may swing by Ear-X-Tacy tomorrow and pick it up. I've never heard of the first band...but based on your other taste I'll make a point to check them out.

They're going to be playing the Southgate House in Newport on March 7th and I'm planning on going. I'm not huge into Daniel Martin More as of yet, but I do like Ben Sollee. I'm a ENORMOUS fan of Vernon/Bon Iver. I saw Bon Iver play twice in the first few months For Emma, Forever Ago was out. I'm actually going to see Vernon (playing as "Justin Vernon") at the Cincinnati MusicNOW festival on April 1st. Got my tickets a week or so ago. :thumb:
