Did she move back to Nicholasville or did she never move out of Nicholasville to start with? Why would the KHSAA wish for her to go back to East Jessamine?

Congratulations on getting a scholarship to IUPUI. Hard work pays off.

I am just trying to figure out if she never had a change of residence, how could she be eligible.....

I am not being critical of her, I am just trying to figure out the KHSAA's reason for ruling her eligible.

If it is similar to Stephenson's, then it is based on financial hardship which must be demonstrated.

I'm not sure how this has occurred, in a similar case this year the Shotwell kid was ruled inelgible.....it seems as if the KHSAA has yet again contradicted themselves....I could imagine that parents could be getting fed up and KHSAA could possibly forsee a rather large lawsuit coming their way!

Congratulations to Mitchell on getting a scholarship and best of luck to you in your senior year and in the future, at IUPUI.

comply with Rule #13

This all goes back to the case brought up against LCA a months ago. The KHSAA told the players that received the money from River Fund that they could continue at LCA but would have to pay back all money awarded to them through the Fund. If they chose to return to their district school, their eligibility would remain in tact.

This is a completely different situation that Shotwell from Scott Co.

Please explain how this is any different? If possible please also explain why the KHSAA would reward the athletes that recieved illegal money with immediate elgibility and declare others inelgible...shouldnt even the athletes (who didnt recieve illegal funds) that did not want to attend a school that has been fined by the KHSAA have the right to transfer away from that school as well?

Once again the wrong people are being scrutinized and possibly punished. High school and colleges alike have coaches and administrators that chose to break the rules but rarely are they held accountable. They simply stay in place or move to another coaching position while the institution and the athletes are punished. How many of the athletes can actually affect how a coach or administration runs a program. KHSAA should start penalizing coaches and or administrators and absolutely give athletes the chance to transfer if they have no involvement in the violation.
