Exactly, I'm not saying David Carr would be on his way to Canton, but who knows how his career could have turned out if he didn't start with two strikes against him.

Redman should get it to start the year. I see him starting 3-6 games tops, no more than that. Ryan will be the starter before the season is over with.

As for your question, the answer is no. But, it's just not something a lot of teams do. I don't think the Falcons will do it. In addition, Kitna was a better QB than Redman and the Bengals were a better team than what the Falcons currently have. Kitna had a very good season and the team went 8-8. If Redman has a similar season and the Falcons play as well as Cincy did, then they'll probably stick with him. But, that's not going to happen. Ryan will be their starter by the ninth game or sooner...
