Jesse Jackson makes inappropriate comments about Obama

Featured Replies

I guess. Obama's characterization of small town Americans was one of the most arrogant things that I can recall any politician saying. Considering that his audience was a group of affluent San Francisco liberals, I am sure that he was just preaching to the choir.

Again, perspective. I did not see it that way at all. I saw a man trying to explain to a group of people why another group of people felt a certain way. Since then, I have read Audacity of Hope, and a part in it only strengthens my belief in that.

I see the audacity that Obama's supporters are willing to overlook.

Every time that I read a liberal Obama supporter comment about how tax hikes will not affect them I am reminded of the arrogance of liberalism. It is okay to confiscate the income of sovereign US citizens, as long as the victim is wealthy. I am far from wealthy but I recognize the fundamental immorality and arrogance of the soak the rich mentality of American liberals.

audacity - 1: the quality or state of being audacious: as a: intrepid boldness b: bold or arrogant disregard of normal restraints

Do you have a comment that actually addresses my post, instead of using it to go off on a tangent?

 ...and I thought that I tied your Audacity of Hope comment in with the arrogance issue pretty well. Different perspectives, I suppose...

My comment was in direct response to your comment about Obama's characterization of small town Americans. But hey...if you don't have anything in response, no problem.

And my response was to your comment about reading Audacity of Hope. My observation that audacity is a synonym for arrogance was responsive to your post, but thank you for the constructive criticism. :thumb:

Yes. Audacity is a synonym for arrogance. He could have easily called his book "Arrogance of Hope," as seemingly some of us apparently thrive on negativity and controversy. It is a little arrogant to hope that any progress can be made toward helping people understand those that are not like themselves, if people are unwilling to understand. Good point. :thumb:

So do I, J.J. just slammed the only point that Obama has made thus far that I actually agree with. Like I had stated in another post, imo this actually helped Obama and exposed Jackson for the idiot that he really is (as if anyone needed any more proof)

I certainly am not and will not call you arrogant, not even close imo but as for Obama....yes, the man and his wife are elite, pompass and imo look down their noses on everyone regardeless of race. They are not prejudice with their arrogance.:D

:thumb: I certainly agree, it was plainly stated that they didn't release the entire conversation (which by the way was reported was a lot worse as it went on), had the scenerio that you stated been the the major main "sceam" media outlets would had been "foaming at the mouth" and all over it. CNN would still be celebrating and claiming it a national holiday .

You question was not for me I don't belive but.....

Yes I do.

Not much difference in the rich Obama's and McCain and his multi-million dollar wife. They are all arrogant. It comes with the territory. People with that much money are arrogant and self-serving.

This has not been my experience with wealthy people. Some of the most generous and humble people that I have ever met have been fairly wealthy. OTOH, some of the biggest jerks that I have ever met have had far less money and worked far harder to convey an image of wealth.
Very well said.

Yesterday on Fox News the commentator said that there were more comments on the tape that they chose not to release them. I cant help but wonder what else he said and why the entire tape was not released.

And now we know.

Jackson caught on video using n-word during Obama remarks

WASHINGTON — Jesse Jackson apparently was caught on tape using the n-word, the racial epithet he has railed against for years, adding an ironic new twist to the controversy over his recent remarks about Barack Obama during an off-air break in a televised interview.

A chagrined Jackson issued a renewed apology to the Democratic presidential candidate late Wednesday while traveling overseas, without specifically acknowledging he used the racial slur while he waited to speak on a recent Fox News program.

Advisers to Jackson declined to confirm that he used the word, but Fox host Bill O'Reilly said in an evening interview that Jackson did. O'Reilly said that when he broke the original story several days ago, he had withheld the incendiary comment because he didn't want to create that sort of controversy.

Fox has not aired the clip containing the slur nor released a transcript containing it, though someone with access — a "weasel," by O'Reilly's description — leaked the information.
