Newport Opening

Newport's new Head Girl's basketball Coach is Coach Vorhees' from Bellevue, he coached the boys varsity team. Joe will remain the JV Coach

Kent is a Newport kid and will do a great with the girls but i don't coaching is the real problem. To me , the problem is decipline. The girls do not seem to want to accept the rules from the coaching staff, therefore the coach will jump ship

I don't see a problem with girls playing with boys in the elementary grades. If nothing else, it toughens the girls up. That is the girls that really want to play and aren't intimidated by the boys. My daughter started playing in the 3rd grade with boys and was able to hold her own and to this day she still plays in a co-ed league where 95% of them are males. It's up to us parents to keep pushing our girls to be strong. Newport does need someone who is willing to stick it out because it will not be pretty for a while.

I am curious to know what Newport's reaction was when they found out the circumstances behind Vorhees' departure from Bellevue

Coach VORIES will do a great job in Newport, with some talent, including Bivens, they could be a bit of a surprise.

Take the personal comments, to the PM's. Get back to the topic.

Coach V will be missed at Bellevue. He will be great addition to the Newport coaching staff. Good Luck Coach!!

Does Coach Vories still play any softball? Back in the day he was quite the player for the Buzzards Roost if I remember correctly.
