June 7, 200818 yr NO! Athletes work too hard to get where they are to have it all thrown away by government bodies deciding to boycott. The US made a huge mistake by not sending the athletes in 1980 to Moscow. If people want to boycott by no going over there then fine, or another way, but not by leaving the athletes home.
June 10, 200818 yr I saw an article a few months ago that had a quote from someone in the USOC that said something like "If they made a list of worst ideas ever conceived, boycotting the olympics would be right up there at the top of the list." It would be right above holding the olympics in China.
