Was wondering did any of the 9th region schools play each other? I have seen Dayton, New Cath, and St.Henry mentioned here was there more from the 9th down there? Curious to hear if anyone heard anything especially New Cath if they played St.Henry.

Pendleton County went 3-0 in Day 1.

The only games I am for sure about are from the Pikeville point of view. Pikeville beat Nicholas Co. and Pendleton Co. in the tourney today before losing to Newport Cath. It was Newport Cath and Cinn. Elder in the 21-team varsity tourney. I think St. Henry was in the semis. Pikeville finished 5-7 I think with losses to Elder by one, two losses to Newport Cath, once by 4 and once by 14, Louisville Southern by 21, N. Laurel by 17, and Muhl. North by 16. There appeared to be some really good teams in the Transy camp. The best teams seemed to be Elder, NewCath, Southern, N. Laurel, Mulh. North, and St. Henry.

I don't know how the tourney went, but as far as NKY teams went (minus Pendleton), going into the tournament today, St. Henry was 8-1, NewCath went 6-3, and Dayton went 5-4. NewCath was in a different division than St. Henry and Dayton so they didn't play unless they met in the tourney. St. Henry beat Dayton yesterday by around 10. I beleive they also beat Pendleton. Pendleton beat Dayton by 8 or 9.

 

Elder was the top seed in the tourney. St. Henry and Muhlenburg North weren't far behind. Southern was up there also.

NewCath beat Elder in the Semis and lost to Muhlenberg North on a half court shot as time expired in the finals. 13 games in 2 1/2 days, wow!

I heard St. Henry did play pretty well while down there. But I also heard that starting senior guard Cameron Speed possibly broke something.

Who does NCC bring back next season outside of Pangallo/Meyer/Geisler/Conner?

The kid to watch is Jake Giesler, who will be a soph. He is 6'5 and was very impressive when I saw him play a few weeks ago.

Sounds like the local teams did very well. Jake Giesler has been mentioned any other young men have a good camp down at transy?

I've heard that the young Giesler looks ok but will struggle to keep up with Meyer, Connor and Pangallo? Will they let those 3 run????

Pendleton County had a great camp. They were 8-1 going into the the last day tournament, lost to Pikeville in a last second shot. They played great as a team. Everyone stepped up & played ball. Ten games in less than 48 hours is great & with only 7 players in 6 of the games than 8 players.

St. Henry lost in the final I believe.

Sounds like St. Henry did very well between the Varisty and JV. Any JV player going to make an impact this year? Do you know if there JV team is made up of mostly Sophmores to be or Juniors to be? Does anybody know about Dayton or New Caths JV team?
