Greenup Co. in 2 games. Gave Wheeelersburg,Ohio thier only loss of the year and they were ranked #2 in Ohio at the time.

LLOYD — Coach Greg Logan likes the format ahead and where his team’s at as Greenup County is set to continue its bid at a return to the State Tournament tonight in Powell County.

 

The Musketeers take on Estill County in the Semi-State 8 best-of-three series. Game 1 is tonight at 8 as senior lefty Tyler Hieneman will take the mound with his state record 36 straight scoreless innings.

 

“It is critical to get off to a good start because we’re throwing our ace out there,” Logan said. “But if you lose that one, you don’t just panic and fall apart. It’s not the end of the world. That’s the good thing about a three-game series, the best overall team will most often come out on top. I like the three-game series format.”
