What does Bourbon County need to do to improve in 2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Sounds like they need to get some assistants to help the coach. Is Massie staying?

Yes, he only stepped down as the Track Coach and he told them that before the track season started that this would be his last. As far as football goes, he's staying!

They need to let their playmaker Taylor Barnes(I believe thats his name) make plays. He is a very athlete that plays qb. If Bourbon could find a good qb and move Barnes to RB they would have a very good backfield. Also last year they didn't have any quality linemen do they return any if not all of them?

Barnes should be awesome this year along with the RB Purcell I think his name. The coaches should turn these guys loose. Barnes can throw too from what I hear!!

I thought Bourbon showed much improvement last season.

I believe they lost about 12 seniors though (including Wigglesworth).

Some of that being the line.

I haven't talked to anyone to find out what they are looking like. They should have a nice size freshmen class coming in though, with some good/decent athletes. The freshmen class has over 200 students, so Coach Massie should have some decent guys coming in.

Bourbon has only 4 freshmen out right know and don't look for them to have enough for a freshmen team. The line lost 3 srs last year but the rest were freshmen and sophs, which gave them some experience going into this season. Barnes and Purcell have blocking from the fullback position in Mack Manning, he cleared the way for Purcell in the win over Paris. Coach Massie should compete better this year. Massie is more involved with the hiring of the Middle school staff this year, the head coach Strurgul needed to be replaced IMO. Go Colonels !!:thumb:
