June 12, 200818 yr IMO, this is the most overplayed/overrated game of all time. Sure it was the first game of the Bird/Magic rivalry, but the game was not that good. I agree. MSU pretty much controlled the game by halftime. There were glimpses of Magic's greatness but Bird was contained as well as he could be. The Depaul-ISU semi-final was the best game of that championship weekend and would be more enjoyable to watch.

Mark Aguirre, Terry Cummings … ISU-MSU I agree is overplayed, but it was really the jumping off point for college hoops' marriage with TV, and that's why it's viewed as important (in addition to being the first Bird-Magic meeting).

Maybe not as much for punishment as for the calming factor it might have, putting the guys to sleep. They could also mix some golf in there as well. Now, if they really want to punish them, show a non-stop loop of WNBA "action."
June 12, 200818 yr For pure punishment, I vote for some of the programming that has been on ESPN2 in recent years. Poker, paintball, cup stacking and paper-rock-scissors; march to the head of the class.
