Noah busted

No, that's just Kentucky fans. Most of the rest of us are positively indifferent about him.

You've got to be kidding me. The Bulls faithful almost came unglued when he was drafted and I venture to guess most of them are not Kentucky fans. I seem to remember some UCLA fans and cheerleaders hating on him pretty good, too. You may be indifferent, but I think you are in the minority.

The Bulls fans did that because they wanted somebody different; not because they had any built-up hatred for him. Kind of like how Jets fans who show up for the draft rarely have anything nice to say about who the team picks.

With UCLA, that was a one-game shot. Not like they had a lot of past meetings with Florida to have built up the venom for him the way Kentucky fans had.

After spending the last couple of years travelling the SEC states with work you couldn't be more wrong on this one Jim. I know you'd like this just to be a UK jealousy thing but it isn't. He's hated throughout the South and beyond. Here's a few articles on it:

I can post 50 more, so c'mon Jim is it just UK fans? Go on, you can tell the truth--we already know, it's okay. Even the Orlando paper knew that other fans hate him.

Familiarity breeds contempt. I'll grant the SEC. Outside the SEC, however, I'm not buying that it's anything beyond indifference. It wouldn't make much sense for a Wisconsin or Oregon fan to care too much about Noah.

That's the key. He was/is a very polarizing figure. It isn't just the SEC but the teams that he played against. No he wasn't hated by your average Wisconsin or Oregon fan but he was hated by the average fans of teams that played against him. He was also very much disliked by college basketball fans that didn't root for the Gators. Your average Duck or Badger fan just followed their teams. If you follow college basketball in general and watched UF during Noah's tenure I would almost guarantee you had a strong opinion on him. People didn't care either way about Brewer or Humphrey. As for Noah if they watched him a few times they either really liked him or really disliked him. His demeanor and appearance left most with no choice.
