How were season ticket sales prior to the 2009 season? 2010?According to the CJ they sold a little over 31,000 season tickets this year, short of their goal of 33,000. To keep things in perspective, FSU only sold 33,000 of their 83,000 seat stadium. USF sales were little under 25,000 in RayJay, which seats 65,000. (They did sell a crap load of those 3 game mini-packages above and beyond the normal season ticket sales.) WVU only sold 24,000 and most of those were mini-packages. Heck, Cincinnati only sold a little under 13,000 season tickets. (I think Pittsburgh sold 3 season tickets, and those people don't come to the games. :sssh: ) Florida sold a of it's allotment of 76,500 season tickets. The swamp holds 88,000 +. However, the university admits that it's because it won the National Championship. It normally does not sell out season tickets every year.

November 4, 200916 yr Another example of the bluenecks in Frankfort sticking it to UofL. If it were to use state funds to build a UK basketball coach's summer home, it would be first thing on the ballot. Glad to see Frankfort understand how things are.

The bottom line is that it is not just about season ticket sales. That the donation associated with the season ticket purchase is the big kicker when it comes down to it. I know from discussions about season tickets on here, that Louisville's are quite hefty, compared to those required to purchase USF tickets. I don't know about UofL, but the top end Iron Bull donation is $10,000/season + ticket(s) cost. I know Louisville's single game tickets are a little pricey at $45, though. At least, that's what I paid for them last year. Aren't they adding a bunch of private boxes? That's where USF makes their money in RayJay, which has 195 private suites. I think they get $10,000 a game for those.
