April 26, 200818 yr I'm a Rivers fan. I hoped they would get a DT but I think he is a solid guy + a solid player. I've said before that there are a lot of comparisons to Derrick Brooks. That's a pretty solid guy to be compared too. I think with the Ravens trading back it is a great sign that they will move to get Brohm!
April 26, 200818 yr Vilma, Morgan, and Shockey have a history with injuries. They won't have a ton of picks if they trade their 2nd away. They traded their 3rd, and I heard they don't have a 4th. I agree that there are deifnate injury problems but they are in a win now mode. They were close 2 years ago and they are filling every need they had.
April 26, 200818 yr Cincy needed Rivers... I'm not an expert on the Bengals roster, but I do remember them running out of OLBs in a couple games last year, so I would agree.
April 26, 200818 yr Author GREAT pick by the Bengals. My players in order that I would have taken would have been Dorsey, Ellis, then Rivers. With Thurman coming back, we can have a very solid, if not really good, LB core. We have Geathers and Odom also.
April 26, 200818 yr I think Rivers is an outstanding pick, I think he'll be around a long time, extremely versatile, good kid, good work ethic, Rivers will help. I agree. I think they were in a spot where no other teams were willing to trade up. Rivers should be a solid backer for a while. If (and a big if) Thurman can come back to form and Brooks stay healthy, they could have a very solid core of backers.
April 26, 200818 yr Man it would be awesome if Cromartie and McKelvin dropped a little further down. Then the Giants might try and trade up to get one of them.
