The coach's they use are made up of ex-red devil Dads, who kids would not be stars for us. They left to coach them there.

Turf is expensive, but more cost effective compared to the wasted money used the last 5 years on the current dust bowl. How much more money will be wasted to fix the current problem?

If they are the current leaders who think they know everything then fire ad's, coach's and kick youth basketball and football players off of fields that there parents tax dollars pay for. But these same people can't grow grass or turn on a hose.

All I can say to this silly commentary is the ones who are involved and using the field are very pleased with its condition. Things have improved, as one post said best in 20 years.

 

You on the other hand have some personal animosity that is really not shared by all the people you reference.

 

Fact is, things are getting done and better than they have ever been. As for yourself, your really not involved in anything and your loyalty is not even with the Camels. Motive is a serious question here.

As far as the filed goes it will look like it does now until it warms up for the Bermuda. It looked fantastic last year, and keeps improving each year.

Show me any field with Bermuda that looks good right now.

These past few months I think they should close some very famous golf courses in Las Vegas and San Diego. They were brown! Bermuda, even in the warm parts turns color. Of course, the rates were cheaper!:ylsuper:

I'm happy for the kids. I can't coach 100 10-11 year olds.

The 35 i get I'm fine with. The league is great for everyone. Anytime you give kids another opportunity is great. I offered to play a bowl game at the end of the year. They take the gate money we do concession.

Next year we switch. 8,000 dollars could be made for both organizations to help buy helmets and shoulder pads to protect the kids.

 

But you say Kudos to people who kick kids off of a field that they played and provided the high school great players for all that time.

Sure the Red Devils sent some of the better former Camel players to Campbell County; then again, there was no other alternative to the Red Devils back then so that had to occur by default didn't it? And while the Red Devils sent some of the better players to the Camels, I'm not sure that the Red Devil method has been real helpful in the Camels developing a successful program (I'll admit there are other contributing factors to the problems the Camels have incurred over the years).

From my observation, a fair number of the coaches in the NKYFL are a bit too concerned about their own legacy as youth football coaches than they are about the high school team that they will be sending their kids to. The focus seems to be all on winning the Super Bowl as opposed to preparing the kids for high school football from what I've observed and been told. And if that's what the parents of kids participating in the NKYFL want, so be it. But you can't blame the high school for supporting another type of league. And that support would include making sure their youth league gets to use the varsity field. And if that means booting the Red Devils due to over use concerns or even provide greater motivation for the parents to choose the CCYFL over the Red Devils, that's seems fair to me.

More kids play who happen to be students in Campbell County Schools sounds like a great feeder program. Why should they play second :banana: to an outside program? Especially when one of its leaders seems very bent on discounting efforts to get more kids involved in Camel football. Perhaps that is why the CCYFL is being defended more than it is complained about.

Good post! To discount people who volunteer and help out is pretty arrogant. Besides, who gets all wrapped up in the middle school age group of any sport? Oh, never mind. Maybe what I should say is who really should get all wrapped up in middle school age sports!

Any good high school coach who wants to be a consist winner. Most programs in NKY which have been good on a consist basis, have good feeder schools. Just my opinion.

Outside of wrestling and the great job their coach does, Campbell County is a huge school that is a non factor on the athletic field.
