Pitching to Luke Maile

Featured Replies

:rolleyes: Just a tad bit of an overstatement. So NKY pitchers should never pitch to the likes of Farris, Maile, Elliott, Nichols, etc?? Just pretty much throw in the towel and accept defeat before throwing a pitch, huh? They're all good, but none of them yet have a plaque in the HOF.

Good ball players, not close to as threatening as Farris and Maile. Those two are known more for their pitching IMO.

I would consider them just as dangerous. ^^

The problem is that CovCath has Darner who is hitting close to 400 and Isler who is also hitting around 400 and is tied with Maile with 5 homeruns hitting behind him. Are you going to put Maile on base so they can hit him in?

Elliott has the speed, the arm, the glove, and swings a very good bat.

Nichols has the arm to pitch and can play a mean third base, but of the three is the weakest hitter.

One person to add to this list this HS season, is Ilser. The young man can smack the heck out of the ball, and since he is whole again, is doing a very good job on the mound.

Honestly IMO I believe Farris is an all around better athlete than Maile.

How many homeruns has Nichols hit this year? And Cody? I know Maile and Farris both have 5 HRs and I know Adams has 6 to lead NKY so far this season. Just wondering on how some of the Kentucky Colonel Boys are doing this year during the high school season...

Honestly IMO I believe Farris is an all around better athlete than Maile.

I agree with you. No one can match Farris's speed except Elliot of Beechwood and because of that speed I think Farris just has that small edge of Maile. But don't get me wrong, Maile has some speed too just not in the league of Elliot or Farris

I agree... Not a knock on Maile at all, but Farris just has a slight edge IMO

Agreed... Plus lettering in 4 sports as a freshman is quite an accomplishment.

That on top of that... MVP of the Connie Mack World series

What sports did he letter in? I thought he only recieved 2 letters as a freshman?

While I will agree with you all that Farris is faster and is a bit better of a hitter than Maile, Maile has a much better arm, and is a better catcher. One big thing to remember, Maile will still be in HS next year, while Farris will be in college. Farris is no match on the basketball floor to Maile, while Maile is no match on the football field to Farris.

Is it even possible to play 4 sports in one year?

I am right there with you. I have personally pitched to Farris before with success. .

Please define "success."

Keep in mind, it's Boone County that he's lettering. And I'm pretty sure you can only letter in 3 sports tops

Fall- Football, Golf, Soccer, Cross Country

Spring- Baseball, Lacrosse, Track, Tennis

Winter- Basketball, Swimming

Unless I'm missing a KHSAA sanctioned sport at Boone County, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to letter in 4 sports in a year
