I can understand from an fan point of view why people would want a shot clock. But coming from a competitor I see no reason for a shot clock, except in the NBA. I think everyone watches too much NBA and think that isolation and run and gun is how it should or has to be played, team play has went down hill. Four out of the last nine years a slower paced team in the Spurs have won the NBA Championship. They don't get the rating and media attention eventhough they get the job they set out to do done and done right, they win. Everyone has to remember that NBA is for show and profits and is looked at as a business. They adjust their rules the majority of the time to suite the fans not because it benifits the players. Add a shot clock does help fans attention focus on the game but takes away from the over all integrity of the game imo.

I kinda like the idea of having a shot clock, but, realistically, i doubt it will happen for many reasons.

Nah baby nah. Quit changing the game if it doesn't make the game better. I think the shot clock eliminates discipline and coaching from high school basketball.

You play to win the game. Whatever it takes. And, with schools like Scott Co. getting so many "transfers", limiting possessions and shortening games is one way to give your team a shot.

 

The only problem with this is the Scott County plays def. you will not hold the ball against them. They run to much full court with traps to make you turn the ball over.:thumb:

I go to California with work in December about every year. I love finding a high school basketball tournament while there. They play with a 45 second shot clock the game is so much more exciting. I like the speed of the game and it demands more discipline in order to execute the quicker game plan.
