April 30, 200818 yr Pens take game 3! Make that seven in a row in the playoffs so far for the boys... :flame: It was a great game to watch. The Penguins have 2 young studs with Crosby and Malkin! This series barely has a pulse...
April 30, 200818 yr Author Avalanche's problems continue: Forsberg playing tonight (left in first period, then has returned in the second) Ryan Smyth sits out game 3 Paul Stastny has left the game.
April 30, 200818 yr Author The Avs are dead in the water as they just can't stay healthy enough to compete. You're right. I hate to make excuses for the poor performance of the Avs, but I would love to see how well Detroit would do without their #1, 4, 6, and 7 points leaders. The only positive that I have seen out of this series is that T.J. Hensick looked amazing out there last night. This kid put every ounce of energy he had into the game.

Avs are ready to pack it in for the season. I would have liked to see them knock off the Wings, but it is not happening.
May 1, 200818 yr Author Two possible elimination games tonight NYR vs PIT and DET vs COL Colorado will be without Forsberg, Smyth, Stastny, and Wolski.
May 2, 200818 yr Two possible elimination games tonight NYR vs PIT and DET vs COL Colorado will be without Forsberg, Smyth, Stastny, and Wolski. So in other words, Colorado is screwed.
May 2, 200818 yr Colorado down 3-1 after one. They have trailed after the first period of every single game of the series, a sure sign that you aren't doing very well.
May 2, 200818 yr Author The Avs just didnt have it in the second round... One has to wonder if Joe Sakic has played his last game in the NHL...
May 2, 200818 yr Two possible elimination games tonight NYR vs PIT and DET vs COL Colorado will be without Forsberg, Smyth, Stastny, and Wolski. The penguins had won 7 straight games, I kind of figured the Rangers would have at least one great game in NY, but now they travel to Pittsburgh for a Sunday elimination. GO PENS!!!
May 2, 200818 yr Author Although Detroit appears to firing on all cylinders, I have trouble saying they are the best team remaining in the west. I feel as though Dallas is clicking just as well, and against a better team that Detroit has. Detroit played a less than stellar Nashville team in the first round, and a physically drained Avalanche group in the second. However, the stars played a veteran team in the Ducks, and are pretty much in control against what was a red-hot San Jose team at the end of the season. I really believe that Dallas is going to advance to the Stanley Cup finals. As far as the East, I don't think anyone is going to stop the Pens. The Rangers are NOT going to win 3 more games straight, just don't see that happening. Philly will eliminate Montreal soon, as I don't think the Habs have the goaltending to gain enough ground on the Flyers. As far as the conf. finals between what I see as Philly/Pitt, its going to be a hard fought series. I think the scoring power of Malkin/Crosby will be too much for Philly. So I think we will see a Stars vs. Penguins for the cup. I will offer more input on that if it happens.
May 4, 200818 yr Penguins advance with an OT win over the Rangers today! Pens almost let this one slip away after leading by 2, but overall just too many weapons for the rangers. Hossa trade is really looking good right now. :ylsuper:
