April 16, 200818 yr Author Most of the first round matchups have been great so far. The Preds/Wings game the other night was excellent, Im really looking forward to watching that game tonight.
April 17, 200818 yr Tonight Pitt gets the chance to sweep the Senators... GO PENS!!!!! Fleury allows 5 goals in 4 games as Penguins stroll into round 2... :flame::ylsuper:
April 17, 200818 yr The Penguins looked good. Then again, finding eight teams actually worthy of making the playoffs in the East was not an easy task. This was a cakewalk. The true tests in the East will come in the semifinals. The whole West seems wide open. Now that Nashville has tied up the series against Detroit, anything seems possible.

Even though that Ottawa was Eastern Conference Champs last year, I know that they were struggling, but the young Penguins did look good.
April 18, 200818 yr Author Even though that Ottawa was Eastern Conference Champs last year, I know that they were struggling, but the young Penguins did look good. Ottawa had one of the best starts in NHL history this season... and it's all for nothing. As far as the west goes... I went to the Nashville/Detroit game 4 in Nashville Wednesday night. The fans in Nashville are amazing and you can tell that they really carry that team. They need to pack a few thousand of them with the team if they want to win their first road play-off game in franchise history. It's going to be tough to beat the Wings at the Joe. However, I think Osgood should get the start tonight after replacing Hasek in the second period of game 4 and remained perfect through the rest of the game. None-the-less this will be a fun series to watch. It looks as though Dallas in control against the Ducks. The Avs/Wild series has been a dandy, COL leading now 3-2 with game 6 in Denver tomorrow night. The Sharks/Flames series is going back and forth, with SJ leading 3-2. It will be very interesting to see who moves on, which could provide some excellent match-ups.
April 21, 200818 yr Author Anaheim will win it all! Guess not.... they fall to Dallas in 6. Detroit finished off Nashville tonight as well game 7 BOS/MON tomorrow night.... Im really looking forward to this game, as well as the SJS/CAL game 7 on Tuesday night. In the west it comes down to this: If the Sharks beat Calgary the second round will be: (1)Detroit vs (6)Colorado (2)San Jose vs (5)Dallas If Calgary beats San Jose the second round will be: (1)Detroit vs (7)Calgary (5)Dallas vs (6)Colorado The east is a little more complicated.... If Montreal and Washington advance: (1) Montreal vs (5)New York Rangers (2)Pittsburgh vs (3)Washington If Boston and Washington advance: (2)Pittsburgh vs (8)Boston (3)Washington vs (5)New York Rangers If Montreal and Philadelphia advance: (1)Montreal vs (6)Philadelphia (2)Pittsburgh vs (5)New York Rangers If Boston and Philadelphia advance: (2)Pittsburgh vs (8)Boston (5)New York Rangers vs (6)Philadelphia* *Only case in which NYR would have home-ice advantage
April 21, 200818 yr Boston is forcing me to eat my words regarding the relative strength of the last few teams to make the playoffs. It should be a great one Monday night.
April 21, 200818 yr Author Boston is forcing me to eat my words regarding the relative strength of the last few teams to make the playoffs. It should be a great one Monday night. Very true. After Boston went 0-8-0 against Montreal in the regular season I dont think many people outside of Boston could imagine them taking 3 games from the Canadiens. However, Ottawa didnt put up much of a fight against the Pens.
April 22, 200818 yr Author Pulling hard for the Flames. I don't want to see Detroit in the next round. As am I. But I do feel as if we can get past Detroit (when and if we play them) we have a legitimate chance at winning the cup. Montreal has defeated Boston in game 7 by a final of 5-0. I didn't see this coming and thought Boston would put up much more of a fight in this game. Washington is leading Philly right now 4-2 with 3 minutes to go in the third. If the Caps win we will have 2 games 7s tomorrow night.
April 22, 200818 yr Author two game 7s on tap tomorrow night phi vs was sjs vs cal should be a great night of hockey:dancingpa
April 23, 200818 yr Author The Capitals/Flyers are tied 2-2 headed into the third period.... This is what play-off hockey is all about.:ylsuper:
