June 5, 200818 yr Fleury hasn't looked nearly as good tonight. That second goal was almost entirely on him as he allowed the rebound right to the Detroit player. Detroit will be on the power play now. Greeeeeat.
June 5, 200818 yr Relatively easy penalty kill for the Penguins on that last power play. Only one real chance for Detroit.
June 5, 200818 yr We're through two periods and it's 2-1 Detroit. Pittsburgh looked dead for a bit but that last goal got them back in the game.
June 5, 200818 yr I've never watched a hockey game before but I am occasionally glancing at this one, I'd like to see Pittsburgh win tonight.
June 5, 200818 yr  what a play...That'll probably do it for the Penguins, man that can realy break a spirit.
June 5, 200818 yr Hockey needs to have a major TV contract, so we all can watch this great game more often.
June 5, 200818 yr Hockey needs to have a major TV contract, so we all can watch this great game more often. I agree... :thumb:
June 5, 200818 yr Ok, now that my disappointment blowing over, I can say that the Penguins never gave up. I hate to do the IF game, but if Flurey had not pushed that one puck in with his butt we might have had another OT. I will concede that Detroit is the better team, but I am excited for the future of hockey in Pittsburgh. A very young team with tons of potential... (Sid 20, Geno 21, Flurey 23 and Staal 19)

June 5, 200818 yr Author Great end to an excellent season. I hate seeing Detroit win the cup, but it was a great series. These play-offs were great as was the regular season. There are some big names on the market come July 1st.... should be interesting. There are a LOT of questions to be answered this summer. Are Chelios/Hasek finished? Has Joe Sakic played his last game? Will Peter Forsberg try to get healthy and return next season? Who will Pitt be able to keep?

June 5, 200818 yr Author I really think Hasek will hang em up as well. He just fell apart in the opening round, and being on a cup winning team is the way to go out IMO.
June 5, 200818 yr That was awfully fun to watch. I can watch playoff hockey, just not regular season. I feel the same way about NBA basketball. These athletes just don't put out the same effort day in and day out, in the 8 month season.
