Are you serious? Please tell me half of Trinity's team forgot what time the game was and didn't make it.

Actually the game was a blow out or simply horrible coaching on Trinity part, they had there outfield shift toward right field the whole game, Carroll had about 3 doubles down the left field line.

Trinity only had 1 earned run that I can remember, Carroll Co. defense also helped out coming up with big plays during key moments. Center fielder Jordan Wilson capped the game off throwing the runner out at home to complete the upset.

Things like this make wins even sweeter. Sometimes the name on the front of a jersey will not intimidate kids when they know they can play. Give the Carroll Co. kids credit they deserve it.

I agree to many times we look at the big name high schools and think, its an automatic win just cause there name is Trinity or PRP ect. This is baseball any team that can be competitive has a chance to win the game.

 

but like I said with no disrespect to Trinity this game really wasn't close as it was. Trinity only earned 1 run the whole game, rest was on a few stupid errors that can be fixed.

I wasn't there...but Tompkins is one of the best coaches around...I find it difficult to believe they lost because of "horrible coaching". Hats off to Carroll County for beating a very good and well coached Trinity squad.

Yes i dont think they lost because of horrible coaching but, the coach did shift all of the outfielders closer to the right field line so when ever Carroll hit one down the third base line they got a double or triple.

I'm sure there was a reason for whatever shift you saw. Most hits down the "third base line" are extra bases anyway. Were these left handed hitters that were up when Trinity shifted to right field? If so, makes sense. Maybe they got a bad scouting report that said these CC hitters were dead pull hitters and they just went oppo. If they were righties then I'm guessing the Trinity pitchers were told to pound the ball outside and just missed their spots and allowed CC to pull the ball.

The bottom line is the Carroll County baseball team has great potential. The played as a team and won as a team.

 

Many small schools are intimidated by large schools with a lot of kids, but not this time. The boys pulled off a great win that they will not forget for a very long time. Go Panthers!!!!!

Remember this is the same Carroll Co. team that knocked off Oldham last year in the regionals...I think people made the same type of comments. They are a very good ball team. I think they will earn some well deserved respect this year.
