April 9, 200818 yr How about these: Manu Ginobili- Chosen with the 57th pick by San Antonio in 1999. Hard to believe this guy was chosen after Frederic Weis, Cal Bowdler, and Leon Smith Dirk Nowitski- Chosen with the 9th pick by Milwaukee in 1998 (traded to Dallas), Nowitzki has become one of the more dominant players in the NBA. His success has led to foreign players being picked earlier in the draft rather than choosing prolific college players like Raef Lafrentz and Robert Traylor who were selected ahead of Nowitzki. Gilbert Arenas-Chosen with the 31st pick in 2001 by the Golden State Warriors, Arenas has developed into one of the better young point guards in the NBA. Arena’s success suggests teams made a major mistake drafting Kedrick Brown, Kirk Haston, and Joe Forte ahead of him to name a few. Only downside is he has been injury plagued the past few years Kobe Bryant- Chosen with the 13th pick by Charlotte in 1996 (Traded to L.A.), Bryant has become the best player in the NBA IMO. Hard to believe he was taken right after Todd Fuller and Vitaly Potapenko in the ’96 draft. None of those are sleepers except maybe Ginobli. I think anyone in the 1st round isn't a sleeper. I think he was talking about 3th, 4th, 5th round picks who become solid NBA players.

I think he was talking about 3th, 4th, 5th round picks who become solid NBA players. 3th? :lol: Didn't know there was a 3th round But the names I mentioned as sleepers (Ginobili, Arenas, Nowitski, Bryant) were considered sleepers because if you look at who was drafted ahead of them, they obviously weren't supposed to be the best in their draft class but rather middle of the pack, and now all are NBA all stars.

April 10, 200818 yr Avery Johnson (dunno much about his college career, but he doesn't appear to be an all timer)[/ PG at Southern and was a stud there, but it is small college b-ball in the SWAC. Some recent guys jump to mind for me, Kevin Martin (Western Carolina, 23 ppg this year), Gerald Wallace (late 1st rounder out of Bama) and Michael Redd (2nd round out of the Ohio State University and I totally thought he was going to be a bust!).
