Track the Cubs (Week 1)

Featured Replies

I figure if SvFan can have a thread by himself, then Rocket and I can, too! Heck, we discussed Prince Fielder's pants in depth yesterday. Today Rich Hill takes the mound against the Astros and Chris Sampson. Cubs looked much better yesterday, hopefully that will continue today.

They'll have a good season and choke down the stretch.. There, you don't even have to watch any games.

:thumb:I do, too. We're hoping to go back in August if we can make it.

I'm going on May 11th to Wrigley, can't wait. I love Wrigleyville in the summer, such an awesome neighborhood. Definately getting a Fukodome shirt while I'm there! Everytime I go I buy things at that shop that's right across from Wrigley. I'm working on having a "Cubs" room in my home when I buy a house in a few years!

Just glad Harry isn't around to butcher Fukudome's name ... the FCC would have had to go on full alert.

Brian Roberts would look awfully good in the leadoff slot for the Cubs. As a switch-hitter (the Cubs are always too righthanded) and a leadoff man, he would address two or three issues for them. He's a better glove than DeRosa, who could go back to being a platoon player and utility guy.

Haven't they been mathematically eliminated already...?

The Central is up for grabs and if Wood can stay healthy he can be a pretty effective closer.

My son's bedroom is pretty much totally Cubs, with a few UK things thrown in for good measure!

That's the first thing I thought of when the Cubs signed him.

The season is early, I think they will make another run at Roberts, I'd love to see him at the top of the lineup...

Of course, that's always a big "if" with Wood. The Cubs should have made this move two or three years ago, especially after Wood was so dominant in a brief stint as a reliever in 2005. Instead, he underwent two more rounds of arm problems, and you never know what kind of toll that has taken on him.
