Ivey is not in school at Scott Co. He still goes to Bondurant Middle in Frankfort (Western Hills feeder school). Rumor has it that he will transfer to SCHS next year. That will be kind of unfair to the WHHS staff, who have worked hard to turn that program around the right way, if he does transfer.

If that happens Western Hills loses another impact player. Ivey is the best 8th grader in the Frankfort area. The last that Western Hills lost was William Graham to Lexington Catholic. Got to be frustrating for Western Hills as they do work hard at the middle school level. I know they had Ivey playing up as a 6th and 7th grader looking to give him every opportunity to develop.

 

It is sort of like Bobby Knight says, you need good players to have success in a program. Scott County is obviously getting them, from many other places than within the county.

I think you are correct. His brother already attends Trinity and is a very good football player. The younger Leech is a good athlete and football may be his better sport. If he does not grow much more he will need to develop much better ball handling in order to be an impact basketball player in high school.

That's never been a secret. Not only does his brother play football there, but his dad is on staff there as well. The plan has always been to go there.

If Ivey is such a good ballplayer, why was he not on Western Hills varsity squad? Manning was on SC's and they are head and shoulders above WH.

He was invited to play up and attended one practice but decided to not play up and keep his options open. It was no secret WHHS coaches wanted him to play up.

I would say they would have to, Scott County generally does not take folks t live out of district unless their parents work for the SC School System.

No he is going to Lex. Cath they just Hired his dad as a running backs coach there at LC, Trinity hired thier dad 3 years ago when his older son was a freshman. The oldest one goes to trinity and plays football.

Interesting.....I'm not going to throw stones (lord knows we already have all the stones that have been thrown @ Scott County) but IMO Leach's dad was shopping his son around so he could obtain a football coaching position closer to home. Good luck to Leach at Catholic, he will be an outstanding athlete for all of their programs....I'm assuming he will play football now since his dad is coaching???
