Great Starbucks right there! Have you eaten at Ippolito's by the Suwanee Town Center? Best pizza around!

No but I will have to try it!

Suwanee is a VERY, VERY, nice place to live. I don't think I could handle living anywhere inside the perimeter. I just wish that PIB was all limited access instead of all those daggone stop lights on my way from Dunwoody everyday!

Also, I appreciate all the well wishes, but it's important for us to keep in our prayers all those people in the cabbagetown area who weren't so fortunate to escape "scott Free". The aerial views they have showed today are frightening, but in a way it's a small miracle that it wasn't any worse. God must have had an eye on everyone last night.

My buddy took a couple pics on his camera, and I took a few on my cell phone. If I get a chance, I will try to load those up for everyone.

I just wish that PIB was all limited access...
Just curious -- what does "PIB" stand for?

I was there as well, although on the opposite end of the court from EKU.

The story he told is dead on. Initially I thought that the bleachers were wobbling or going to come crashing down. I heard the noise and saw the wind blowing things but was unsure as to what it was. Then, people started moving from the bleachers quickly.

It really was an amazing experience. I cannot even begin to describe the amount of broken glass on the streets and throughout the city of Atlanta.

The weirdest part about it all was how we were forced to leave the Georgia Dome after being advised to stay there multiple times. Our hotel was a few blocks away. Fortunately we had taken a cab there and so our cars were not damaged at all. Many other cars were. Nearly every car that I saw had windows broken out, shattered, etc. Billboards had fallen on top of cars. Street signs were facing the wrong way. Big, electrical signs were uprooted from the ground and laying on their side.

I picked up a piece of insulation from the GA Dome and brought it home with me as a souvenir. Words can't describe the situation there.

I couldn't believe that they kicked everyone out of the GA Dome. We had to walk for 20 minutes or so while ANOTHER storm approached. Fortunately for us, we were there early; however, the same could not be said for everyone. In our hotel we spoke with a woman who was outside, on her way to the game when the storm hit. She was still rattled and said how she had to hold onto a pole, which eventually was uprooted. Some type of metal debris fell onto her back, but she was not seriously injured. She was with her daughters (17 & 20) and her husband...all of which were caught in the storm with her.

Maybe the most amazing part of it all was the amount of injuries. There were very few, from what I understood.

Glad you made it out safely. Thankfully that game went long enough to keep people in doors and out of harms way. Somebody was looking out for Atl. last night.

Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

Every other street in Atlanta is named Peachtree, but this one is pretty important, and thus abbreviated for traffic report purposes HAHA

I was highly upset when they made everyone leave, but a gentleman sitting behind us said soemthing that I believe is the real truth behind it.

"Maybe they are making us leave because it is safer bet out there, than in here, if another storm comes."

With the way things were rockin and rollin', and the ammount of damage the Dome sustained... maybe he was on to something.

Also.. I too grabbed the foam insulation. My goal was to get BCG to sign it for the ultimate keepsake HAHA.

I wanted to get the entire team to sign it.

But it beats dealing with I-85 and 285 to get to the Dunwoodies. :thumb:

Maybe our paths will cross one day...glad you're safe. The storms today (Saturday) were coming one right after another and there seemed to be a new tornado warning every 15 minutes. Scary stuff.

I know what you mean about the Peachtree thing.

I'm glad EKU and CC are both safe. I drove past Atlanta today and every three seconds the radio came on and said take shelter and stay off the road... We wound up being fine but it was pretty scary..

We decided to leave Friday since we were not able to go to the games at Georgia Tech.

Listening to the game, we drove through just about every county that had a tornado warning or watch. I was driving and we had another car following us. Talk about scary...

Same here, ours eyes were glued to the sky.
