LexCath vs UHA (First rd of Sweet 16)

Featured Replies

A talented, fundamentally team like Mason Co or LexCath will cause a lot of problems for an undisciplined UHA team...

If LexCath plays to UHA's disadvantages, they'll win by 15+...

I think Hopson and Edmonson come out and play well. I'll take UH in the upset

I know Hopson and Edmonson are supposed to be great players and everything, however, I think a lot of people are overlooking the fact that while all year Lex Cath has been talked about having Stewart and Novosel as the stars, yet it was Jordan Smart who was 11th region MVP and it was Vee Sanford who came through in the clutch the first times they played Mason and Scott Co. Throw in Taylor Botkin who really can do just about everything on the court and you have a tough starting five that are all 6'0"+. The bench doesn't necessarily bring the scoring threats as much but defensively the Knights can throw a lot of good players at you.

This game can be very close, however I'd take a team with five really good players who can score 20+ on any given night versus a team with two great players who are capable of scoring 20+. Either way, I am bummed that I'll be working all day wednesday meaning i'm gonna miss this first round matchup.

I look forward to seeing this one as UHA gaurds will have to hadle that 2-2-1 press of Lex Cath.

Once again if Hopson wants to win this game, then UHA will win this game!

This will one heck of an opener to the Sweet 16. I'm skipping class to drive up from Maysville to watch this game. Lex. Cath. is playing some pretty good ball right now. So, I hope to at least get a good game out of it, which I think will happen. I think this could be an early upset.

Thanks, thats what I figured, if he keeps shooting like he did in the 11th region tourney he might end up getting a scholarship.

Was he going there before he found out he could walk on or is that the reason he's going?

The Vandy coach, Keith Stallings was at the 5/3 tourney two years ago for the LexCath game and others. Smart has probably been on their radar for some time.

Catholic is the best team in the tourn. by far. Having said that, UHA is probably 3rd or 4th best team. Meaning this will be an exciting game. I also felt the Station/Catholic game was exciting, but Catholic manhandled them and won by 17. I see this game going something similar. Catholic wins by 12, Hopson may get 15 or so, maybe even 20 but it won't matter.

This will be Catholics closest game of the tourney until Mason.

I say Catholic walks through the tourney this year. Too much fire power from 4 different players with a good ball handling PG.
