Catholic and their fans. Truly a KHSAA Classic.

Cov Catholic because of the fans.

Covcath will need more than just their fans tonight. Holmes has killed them on the boards the past two meetings.

For Covcath they need someone other than Maile to step up on the boards. He has killed Holmes the past two games on the boards but Holmes ability to get second and third chance points is what proved to be the difference despite a valiant effort by Maile.

I'm interested in seeing if Henley uses the same match ups as last game and keeps Henderson on Bondick to force someone else to run the offense.

I'm going with CovCath because of their fans as well. Rupp would make a great venue for the Colonel Crazies.

Who cares about the cheering section?!?!? I just want to see the best team in Lexington. That team is Covington Holmes.

We got many of the old Bulldogs coming out tonight. Their won't be any synchronized cheers, but we will be loud dammit! :-)

I will admit that it is awesome to watch those CovCath kids though... Straight hilarious cheers.

"God's on our side"

Bring the rosary.

Separation of church and state will prevail.

Honestly, one of the most ignorant and pompous cheers going. The CCH cheering section is creative, but that one is silly.

Bring on the rosary beads, holy water, get the Bishop to sit on the bench. You're gonna need it. DO IT BIGTIME BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a long time Cov. Cath. fan but have to agree with the thumbs down given the "God's on our side" cheer.

Holmes 70-62.

I must add, I mean absoluetly no disrespect to my faith. I just got caught up in the moment with the old alma matre.

I just wonder what makes the Holmes fans so sure that they will beat CovCath tonight? If the two overtime wins against CovCath this season are the reasons for saying they will beat CovCath tonight, can you honestly tell me with a straight face that playing those two games on your home court wasn't worth at least 1 point to Holmes in each game?

I will be rooting for CovCath tonight but will root on the winner of this game, whomever comes out the winner, when they play at Rupp, next week.

I am not a fan or alumnus of either school but I feel that Holmes deserves to go and represent the 9th. 30 wins this season, averaging winning by 20+ per game. They have been dominating. They will have to earn it though against Cov Cath, but I think that they will give the 9th the best shot at a State Title. That is all that I want to see. The best team be represented. But doesn't this seem a lot like last year? I hope the Bulldogs stay focused, they should roll. I say Holmes by 10.

Now TOG you know I very rarely disagree with you but I have to on this one in your first paragraph. The first time Holmes beat CCH the argument was they didn't have Bondick. The second time when they beat CCH with Bondick the argument was home court advantage. Don't get me wrong home court play an advantage but when it comes to playing against CCH, I dont think it matters that much with the way the Crazies travel to support their team.

If anything playing on a neutral court favors Holmes. Bigger stage and to be honest I think a lot of nky fans there will be there to support Holmes.

I think this will without a doubt be a close game, but here's my reasoning for Holmes winning:

1) Both times the two played it has taken red hot shooting from CCH from behind the arc to stay in the game.

2) CCH has proven twice this year they can't keep a lead against Holmes. First game they were up 10 in the fourth quarter, second game they were up 7 and both games lost.

3) Holmes depth and athleticism both offensively and defensively has worn CCH down both games. CCH doesn't match up well with Holmes DEFENSIVELY and Holmes is playing outstanding on both sides of the ball right now.

4) Outside of Maile, CCH has nobody who can rebound with this Holmes team which has killed them both games.

Now here are my reasons CCH could win:

1) Both games Holmes has had a lead at the end of the game and not been able to finish at the line, thus giving CCH a chance to send it to OT. Holmes will need to make their free throws.

2) CCH red hot shooting. Holmes will need another performance like they did against Dixie last night from Jamel Riley from behind the arc.

3) Colonel Crazies. Holmes can't let them get inside their head and throw them off their game.

With that being said it will be a great game but I have to go with the better defensive team in Holmes.

With Station and Scott Co. out, Holmes is one of the best three teams left in the state. They should win. They are longer, more athletic, and deeper than Cov. Cath.

I believe Cov. Cath. will win this game. I don't have a real reason. The colonel crazies will play a small part in this game. You better get there early this will be a for sure sell out.
