Legal. It's not even a question for me. I'm the guy who favors legalizing ALL drugs, of course I am ok with prostitution. It's two adults making a decision that doesn't hurt anyone. It's pretty ridiculous to me that it is even illegal to begin with.

 

I too am in favor of legalizing drugs, abortion, and prostitution. You can't legislate morality and the money to enforce the laws is better spent elsewhere.

 

If you don't want your children participating in these activities, teach them well and encourage them not to do so.

No, I think we should stick our heads in the sand and continue to pour lots of money fighting minor drug possession crimes. Don't you? I mean wrong is wrong and right is right. I am all for checking your brain at the door and throwing common sense to wind.

 

 

 

As far as your other examples:

 

- Yes I think we spend too much money on DUI checkpoints and such. Yes, I think we are a little DUI crazy in this world and have pushed the blood alcohol levels so low that it is a bit silly how little you can drink and get charged with DUI. So I guess I would fall on the politically incorrect side of thinking we go overboard on DUI also.

 

- Poverty - Yes, I think we spend way too much money on people in poverty.

 

- Child Abuse - I have no idea how much resources are devoted to this issue, but if we are throwing resources out that do not stop or reduce child abuse then I would say lets use our brain for that also.

Why should it be the governments concern to protect this person's marriage? Marriages end every day for numerous reasons. Should the government start making marriage counseling mandatory? That way we can say we've tried to make sure no marriages were ripped apart.

Or they could go out to a bar and attempt to meet someone to commit adultery without money changing hands. They could meet someone at work, the grocery, even church (I've seen this one happen) and commit adultery. Just because money doesn't change hands, it doesn't mean that adultery isn't committed. I don't see how that is a reason to make prostitution illegal.
