Rockcastle County 57 Casey County 48 (12th Region Finals)

Featured Replies

First of all, a Casey Co. girl knocked the ball out of a Rockcastle players hands, and it went back across the center line. The Rockcastle girl went back to get it, and the ref blew the whistle and called over and back.

Did it hit the Rock girl before it went across the division line?

Then, the refs called a DOUBLE FOUL on a CHARGE. They called a CHARGE...and a BLOCK. Yes...that happened.

If they both saw what they think they saw and both called it at the same time, that's the rule. Usually, you hope there is a slight hesitation when both blow their whistles to let one call it but if they both call it, they did the right thing by rule.

 You have GOT to be kidding.

The refs were AWFUL both ways.

The refs did not give Rockcastle 9 points. The Lady Rockets controlled the game after the 1st quarter and they did it with hard work and talent. The refs stunk both ways.

As I said, I know nothing about the game and really don't care either way. That was just a hot topic I overheard at work between some of the women I work with. They were definately Casey supporters, so it probably was just sour grapes.:thumb:

No, it didn't hit the Rock girl before it went back across the division line. It was knocked away by Casey, and the Rock girl chased it down. She first touched it again when it was on the other side of the court. It happened fairly close to me...

On the charge, I've NEVER seen anything of that sort. The ref closest to us called a charge, the other ref behind the basket called a blocking foul. I thought it was stupid. They pretty much just gave the ball back to Casey County after calling a double foul. Technically, a double foul on a charge is not possible, right?

It is possible. You'll hear it referred to as a "blarge." If both called what they called, the ultimate ruling was correct.
