Wow.. I figured the score would be a little closer than this.

Ashland went on a 19-2 run to open the game and finish the 1st qtr. at that 19-2 score. That obviously set the tone for the game, the Lady Rams made a couple of runs later in the game and brought it back to within 12 at the end of the 3rd. qtr... Raceland had the ball to start the 4th with a chance to cut the lead to single digits and turnmed the ball over. Ashland finished the game out winning going away.

Raceland commited 27 turnovers in this game and Ashland only 9 to's I believe. Turnovers and Ashland's shooting in the 1st qtr. was the ball game. JMO

 

Congrats to the Kittens and good luck in the championship game vs. the Rowan/Morgan winner. :thumb:. I hope that you take the 16th title.

Vanderhoof only had 6 points. Looked to me like conditioning was a factor! Keeton led Raceland with 18. Strait had about the same for Ashland!

Congrats to Ashland on the win. I listened to the game on the radio and it sounded like the Rams just couldnt take care of the basketball. They are a fairly young team and have alot of talent coming back next year, so I look for them to be right back in the regional tournament. Nice game by Keeton, she could be a dominant inside force next season. Best of luck to Ashland.

My message to Raceland's Lady Rams I guess would be to not hang your heads. You were beaten by a very good Ashland Kittens team and have nothing to be ashamed of.

 

This Raceland team has made a statement in winning their 2nd consecutive 63rd District Tournament Championship :ylsuper:.

Coach Bob Trimble has not only built a team, he has built a program and instilled a winners attitude from the youth levels on up, the Raceland Lady Rams now "Expect to Win". Coach Sexton started the "upswing" of the girls program at Raceland and Coach Trimble has taken it even higher.

Taking control of the 63rd District and having a program/ team that graduates only one senior off of this years team.

Good things have happened for the Lady Rams and good and even better things are yet to come. :thumb:

Also, congratulations to the Lady Rams on a great season. Back to back district championships and the future is still bright, with all but one player returning.

Raceland will definitely be a regional force to be reckoned with in the years to come. Great job by Coach Trimble and his staff. Also great job by the Raceland players. They had to overcome a lot of adversity this year.
