Tough to watch; how did Raceland NOT press when Bath had 45 turnovers last game?

I enjoyed watching the games tonight because the officials allowed the girls to play. There were times when the play was getting somewhat rough but never out of hand.

I feel for the ladies at Bath Co., they played their hearts out. They left everything that they had out on the floor. Hats off to them. I hate to see kids work so hard just to be strip of an oppurtunity to win because of someone else's mistake.

Thanks for the kind words my friend! I LOVE this time of year!!!!

:ylsuper::ylsuper: March Madness Baby!! High school and NCAA tournament time, it just doesn't get any better than this! :thumb:

This had to be one of the ugliest games I had seen this year from Raceland. They could not buy a basket missed at least 10 baskets under the rim and they did not hit free throws like they do in most of the games they played this year. Like it has been said in the posts before this one survive and move on now they have a big test coming up against Ashland they must play better. GO LADY RAMS........

To be fair, Raceland got the 6th player off the floor before the free throw. Keeton jumped out of bounds before the free throw. Th e bath girl thought it was 2 shots and tossed the miss out of bounds to the ref. Officiating was not so great. Vanderhoof was standing near the sideline with the ball and a bath girl comes up and pushes her out of bounds. Clearly a foul, no call.

There were also times when Raceland girls would clearly foul some of the Bath Co. girls and there were no calls. I understand that the officiating wasn't great but they let them play. Raceland tends to struggle when teams are being physical with them, because with the exception of Vanderhoof, most do not like contact.

But about the 6 girls being onthe court, the ball was in play, just not shot yet when Keeton was still on the floor. That is still a penalty that should have been enforced.

Technical foul 2 free throws and the ball. Could have been a different game. Kudos to Coach McNabb for having his team ready to play.

There were 6 girls on the floor when the official gave the ball to the free throw shooter. If I read the rules correctly, the ball is in play at that point. I may be wrong on that point. But it was obvious that there were 6 on the floor when the Raceland shooter had the ball and ready to shoot. Perhaps one of our officiating friends can clear this one up for us.

I am in no way taking anything away from Raceland, just making an observation concerning that particular play.

You are once again correct GoRadio. Once the ball is bounced to the player it is a live ball. If everything is correct in your description a technical foul could have administered.

And should have been administered in my opinion. Thanks for the comfirmation Scobby!!

I also agree that it was a very bad no call and that it might have changed the outcome of the game . I believe this was the only bad call made pretty much all night in both games though . The Officials did a great job all night long till that point. Congrats to Raceland on there win. As far as playing in Weatherby , I thought it was a terrible atmosphere for what ever reason and also it was very dark in there I felt like. I would not want to play games in that arena . Going back to Johnson will be a lift I believe to all teams left.

Good win for the Lady Rams.

In tournament time, any win is a good win. ;)

EXACTLY! During this stretch of the season, as long as you come out on top in the scoring column and nobody injured...it doesnt get any better.

Raceland lives to fight another day. If these Lady Rams can give the same effort as they did against Russell in the District Championship game...they will give Ashland all they want and then some. Stay focused on the task at hand and play like there is no tomorrow.
