Coach Trimble sounded like he agreed w/ you on the effort on his post game interview he stated he thought Bath outhustled them for the game.

Ugly, Ugly game. There was much confusion on a few different occassions during the game last night, for both teams, I felt. As for the officiating, I thought the first game's crew was much better. During both games, however, the players kept sliding all over the floor. Many, many walks went without being called. That alone could have changed the outcome of the game. Also, I didn't think the officials let the girls play ball. I am not sure of the total fouls, but during the Raceland game, it seemed the whistle was blowing like crazy. I know both teams were in the bonus in both halves of the game.

 

As for the venue, GoRadio, I can't ever remember disagreeing with you, but I have to this time. It was nostalgic of sorts, and that I liked but I heard many comments about how dark it was. My girls had driven up from Transy and asked if that is where the MSU teams played when I went there. I answered, "Not quite." LOL I will be glad to be back at Johnson on for the next game.

 

I understand from a tournament director that MSU didn't know until last Thursday that their boys would be playing at Johnson on Monday and Tuesday. Stephenson and crew did a good job pulling everything together at the 13th hour.

There were 6 girls on the floor when the official gave the ball to the free throw shooter. If I read the rules correctly, the ball is in play at that point. I may be wrong on that point. But it was obvious that there were 6 on the floor when the Raceland shooter had the ball and ready to shoot. Perhaps one of our officiating friends can clear this one up for us.

 

I am in no way taking anything away from Raceland, just making an observation concerning that particular play.

 

The radio announcer on the other station stated that the player coming into the game was coming in for the player that was shooting the free throw and that is why six players were on the floor.

Everyone is blaming the officials for a call or no call but IMO some of the blame falls on the official scorer. Doesn't the official scorer have to acknowledge the player coming into the game? To me it seems that there was a communication problem between the officials and the official scorer.

BTW, Great win Lady Rams! Good coaching by Trimble and his staff with this young girls team. Way to play team ball. The Lady Rams will be a contender for years to come.

No wonder Raceland is doing well. Good coaching with a mix of good talent is hard to beat. What about the other schools in the 16th Region such as Ashland, Boyd, Fairview, Rose Hill are their coaches former players and athletes as well?

Your absolutely correct, Trimble was a tremendous athlete. And if I am not mistaken, he still holds several records at Morehead.

:thumb: He certinly was Madeline and he conducts himself with class and off the court. Bob Trimble has been a great coach for the girls program.

I also agree that they will be competitive for years to come. They had some talent when he took the program over and he has taken that talent and molded them into a team with a great attitude and work ethic that now "expects" to win instead of "hoping" they can win. He has structured and improved the j.v. and youth programs as well which leads to good varsity programs.

Vanderhoof and Clark are Juniors, the rest of the team is made up of 6 Sophomores and 3 Freshmen I believe with some pretty good talent at the Jr; high level as well.

I can't say enough for Trimble and Co. He took over a good foundation from Sexton and continued to build on it and has turned it into a school record setting team. Good luck Lady Rams and stay injury-free for the rest of this season.
