Bell County hasn't won since 1980. Clay won in 1992.

I'm not going to name any Clay County players but actually the video showed the first shove coming from a Clay County player.....Nick Brumback has played for five years and has never had as much as a technical. He is one of the most humble players and people you'll ever meet... What do you expect the Clay players to say? That they started the whole thing? Or even better that if their coach was doing what he needed to be doing that none of this would have happened?

I believe they won it that year when Rick Jones was a freshman.
Rick Jones and Corbin won the region in 1997 at Cawood. I think his freshman year in 96, Harlan won the region.
Great draw for Bell, no way LC beats Bell (nothing aganist LC). Morris has done a great job at Bell this year and I don't see a let down vs LC. Bell will play very hard and very good defense. Corbin-South final, South wins again.

I agree with your post, BUT:

Don't underestimate Lynn Camp and say no way. They are a handful if they are hot. Gave KC fits after being down 23, cut it to 2 and had their chances to win, but the Momentum shifted with about 1:30 to go. Bell and the Cats both played similar games against Central. Do I think LC can win 3 in a row? Not likely. Do I think they can play at least one complete game? Yes. IF the Bobcats go in expecting to just stomp on the Wildcats, could be an interesting evening.

I agree! If Bell doesn't play hard with intensity on both ends of the floor they could get beat. Bell better not underestimate LC.

Well, I would not be overly surprised if Lynn Camp beats Bell County -- or vice versa. However, I think both teams will struggle against their next opponent--South Laurel or Jackson County.

South Laurel and Knox Central have to be the prohibitive favorites to meet in the finals. Knox Central is the only 13th region team to beat South Laurel in over two months and they are playing at home. South Laurel is the two time defending champion and are playing at the top of their game right now.

Sorry, I do not see any favorites in the 13th Region. I agree either South Laurel or Knox Central could possibly win this thing. I can easily see Corbin, Clay County, Jackson Co, or Cumberland winning as well. This region is so evenly matched.

I don't think Corbin ever developed into the team many thought they would become. Anyone with thoughts on why?

Their best player(Crawford)has been hurt all year and is still only about 75% healthy. They also are pretty young, starting three sophomores and two juniors. They are experienced players, but I thought some of the younger players made some errors in judgement in the district finals that they will learn from, hopefully soon.;)

Yes, Crawford has not ever really been back to full strength or playing as well as last season. I am sure he'll have a great senior season. Well, I hope his junior season ends well too!

:argue:It's post-season time.

If you're not ready to play ball by the end of February, then something is wrong and you're in trouble.

There should be no excuses this time of the season.

Corbin/Jackson in the finals.

Les, I am really surprised that you are picking Corbin to make it to the finals. Do you think Corbin has developed into the team they were expected to be or has the other teams just improved that much as well? I really think Corbin has not actualized their potential. It could be a number of factors. The team chemistry still seems to be lacking. Clay County is a team on a mission. I am not sure how Cody Roberts played against Corbin in Manchester, but Corbin will have their hands full with Hobbs, Wilson, and Roberts. I really hope Corbin will win against Clay. Though, I don't know if Corbin has ever won the 13th after losing the district. Also, just curious to your reasoning for picking Jackson over South.

Do you think the game will be called close (which will hurt Clay more than Corbin)?

I don't know how true it may be but Crawford seems to be healthy again but just lacking in the conditioning department. Each game he seems to be getting more and more minutes for the Hounds. Do you all think this is more the case rather than it being lingering effects from the knee surgury? He is a beast down low but I'd really like to see him drop about 20 pounds for next year but maintain his strength so he can play above the rim.. It just seems like he has bulked up a little much to be his more natural position.
