Highlands is too high. I would flop them and Dixie with the #3 and #5 spots. With Simpson just coming back and McGraw's back problems they are not a top 3 team in NKY.

 

I know you can't/shouldn't compare scores, but St. Henry beat NCC by 2 on 2/5 and Highlands beat NCC by 20(could've been 30) on 2/25. And you're saying St. Henry should be above Highlands?

Dixie is clearly the fourth best team left, and St. Henry is either fifth or sixth. That five, six spot is much closer to call to me than the four, five spot.

 

Take your time and calm down. If you read my post I said " I'm going by who is playing the best right now." As of this earlier game your referring too St. Henry was inexperience at the time, very inexperienced. They graduated 9 seniors last year and not 1 player had any varsity experience to start the year. So it took them almost until the Boone game to get things together.

 

Now they are probably one of the hottest teams in NKY and thats why I CLEARLY THINK St. Henry should be ahead of Dixie. I just hope they both win the district finals and then have to face each other in the semis of the Region. Then we will talk.

If the red Colonels draw away from the 35th loser they are a lock to be playing in the regional semi's, that sounds at least like a little racket to me.

 

I'm not sure that they are a lock to beat the 33rd district loser should they draw them.

If Conner can knock off St Henry in the 33rd, I'm pretty interested to see who the draw. Some how it will turnout to be the Cov Cath-Holmes loser.

I'm thinking the brackets would look something like this:

 

Upper:

Holmes v Villa Madonna

Highlands v Conner

 

Lower:

Dixie v Bellevue

St Henry v Covcath

 

With that being said though, we could also see a first round Highlands/ Holmes or Highlands/CCH game.

Holmes, Dixie, Highlands, St Henry

I wouldn't mind seeing that scenario. Conner is the wild card IMO if they win their district. Being at home, anyone who faces them is going to be in for a tough game.

How about Villa making the regional tournament!! Wouldn't it be a story if they could grab even one W. Bellevue in the mix as well. Even if the smaller schools can't keep it close, it will give the some pretty darn good players (Steven Love, Blake Bryan from VMA, Austin Kessen, Brad McIntosh from Bellevue) a chance to showcase their skills.

Villa is probably the best story of the 9th this year. I'd like to see Villa go against Highlands and Bellevue against the 35th winner. Then the region will get a true showing of whether or not these kids are as good as they're made out to be.

I agree, individually they have a couple of players here that can compete but overall depth and top to bottom talent is always a struggle at the smaller schools and we all know Basketball is a team sport. If one of those teams draws Holmes though it could get really ugly. I dont think VM or Bellevue have seen that type of Tornado defense EVER :scared:

I was talking to a few Covcath folks last night and they said the same exact thing. They kept talking about how long and athletic Holmes was and how difficult it would be for a Villa or Bellevue to even score 30 points on them.

Dixie has played some tough teams in the last 10 games also. Now that everyone is healthy and just now starting to gel like they can (like the boone game) they should be higher than St. Henry and Highlands in your top 8 teams left. If Highlands 2 stars both dont have good nights against Dixie, Cov cath, and Holmes they will lose. Not enough horses on that squad. Dixie's team is just like Cov Cath and Holmes with many seniors playing major minutes. These are the 3 teams to watch out for IMO. 2 of these 3 will be in the finals.

But here's the thing. Highlands stars do have good nights every night because you cant shut both down. Dixie is a good team but the cream of the crop is Holmes, Covcath and Highlands.
