I agree the decision by the 38th will be interesting (I think its their choice in '09-'10) as they are kind of in between, while probably closer to NKU by a little bit. I'm guessing the 37th ('08-'09 season) will try to host at NKU if the $$'s are right, and the schedule can be worked out; as it's just too convienent about 10 minutes from each school), and the opportunity to try new arena would be too tempting to pass up?

How do you get this? I'll agree with you on Pendleton Co. being close to NKU. Deming and Nicholas Co. are both a 30 minute bus ride to Mason Co. For both of them to get to NKU is and hour plus. Harrison Co. is about a 40-45 minute ride to Mason Co. So I would believe that the 38th votes for it at Mason Co. But who am I to say?

 

The 37th will not give it to NKU next year. There is a scheduling conflict with the 9th Region and a rodeo being held their.

I dont see the 10th Region powers to be agreeing on a three year deal like the 9th Region. Montgomery Co. is going to want to host at least every 4th year as is Mason Co. I can see the 38th District voting to have NKU host at least once and everyone else in the 10th whether or not they will say it publically or not would like to play it at least once there too. It's all going to come down to the money earned or lost by having it at another location other than the Fieldhouse. Montgomery Co. is on the hot seat this year as far as hosting a good tourny which I am sure they will do with their fine facilities. But every one on this site and those who are not know that the first time this week that someone is turned away because of a sold out crowd all the complaints and bashers will come out of the woodwork. This will be said the same for the NKU folks hosting the tournament and 10th Region officials complaining they want to much of a take for hosting the tournament and everyone saying lets move it back the way it was before. I'm not saying that other people don't deserve a chance to host but we all know how tinkering with something that is a proven moneymaker can play havoc with some people. Good or bad, right or wrong, the days of Mason Co. hosting the 10th Regional Tournament for extended peroiods of time are over with.

 

So What you are saying is, if no one gets turned away, and the schools get just as much money as they are from a Mason or Montogomery hosted tourney, then no one in the 10th should complain about where the tourney is held? Is this a fair statement?

Next year is the 37th, but if a two year deal could be made that also included the 38th turn, then 2 of the 4 years it could be at an honest to goodness neutral site. Something to consider, as long as no one gets turned away, and the money is the same.
