Not just the players but the whole town needs to BACK UP YOUR COACH!

I have no problem with the coach or the staff. Last year the team was young and some of them might have been a little hard headed. The team will be better this year, Keep up the hard work it will payoff.

It's amazing how quickly some get spoiled.

The Titans will be fine; just let Jaggers and Co. work some more magic-if they aren't in the Regional Finals this year I will be shocked.

Stay focused on the GOAL!

Mercer will return 16 starters from last years team. It has been a very good winter in the weight room. The Titans will be a tough team to beat. The defense will be strong. However, the Titans will need to improve at the QB position to make a serious run in the playoffs.

Wasn't there quarterback one of the ones who walked out? Also if he's not playing sports at all who's the backup?

I think its Trent "Dunn" ? not sure.

Mercer County was not ready for 5A last year. This year they know what it takes to play with the bigger schools.

I think it had alot more to do with losing 22 seniors frome the team in 2006 and most of their starters .

Mercer Co. will be better this year but its not 2a football anymore. A very good program that took a 1a school and a 2a school put them together and beat a 2a school for the state title by 3 points in 06 season they went 15-0 state champs. Then came the 07 season they go against teams that are the same size student wise they are and go 5-6. Mercer Co. players and fans should always be happy for the 06 season but the way the khsaa let it happen is sad.

In 5a football they will have a very hard time getting out of the region,

might be good enough to win District maybe.

08 season will be 8-4 good season for the 5a Mercer Co. Titans

GOOD LUCK I TRUELY DO MEAN IT !!!!

KEEP THE KIDS FOCUSED ON THE GOAL WHICH IS TO HAVE FUN AND BE ALL THAT THEY CAN BE ON AND OFF THE FIELD.

I saw Mercer County play a couple times in 2006 and 2007. I didn't think that there was any comparison in the two teams from a talent and experience standpoint. It wasn't even close. From my understanding I think that all of their losses except for one were not determined until the final minute and seconds. If I was losing everybody off of a 5-6 team then I would be concerned, but if they are returning practically all of their starters this year then that is definately a positive. The 2006 State Championship game was one of those games I saw Mercer. I have never seen weather conditions like that in my life. I think Mercer attempted a screen pass one time and the ball almost ended up in the first couple rows of the stadium! In conditions like that it makes the playing field b/t two teams very even and it wasn't like Russell was any slouch of a team either. I think Russell could have competed and beaten any team up there that weekend except for Trinity.

I believe Pulaski County returns their best players next year and they should give everybody fits like they did this year and South Laurel returns their QB Ricky Bowling who might be one of the best in the state for '08. Still, it won't shock me a bit to see Mercer County going inot the regional finals this year with anywhere from a 12-0 to 9-3 type record.

Yes, the 2007 QB was one of those. The backup, Trent Dunn, is said to be a dandy and many think he may be the best fit for the QB job this year. 2008 should be a good year for the Titans as they have a lot of returning talent. Best of luck to 'em!:thumb:
