33rd District Prediction (Ryle vs Boone)

Featured Replies

Predictions?

Coach Fookes and the Lady Rebels are always ready to play at tournament time. Ryle beat them once--Can they do it again in the tournament atmosphere??

Neutral flloor at Conner.

I will take Ryle by 4.

I've seen both teams this year. I like Ryle's offense and Boone's defense. Tough call here, should go down to the wire. I'll go with the old saying that "Defense wins Championships". Boone by 2.

Boone w/their experience, not Ryle's turn yet!! Watch for them the next 3/4/5 yrs in a row.

Boone by 10. Nell knows how to win games in the District. She will have the girls prepared. Her experience will make the difference.

Anyone who attended the first game between these two is aware BC was down two players and two other "key" players were limited to only a few minutes due to the flu. The game was still tied with less than 2 minutes to go. I imagine both teams will be healthy and at full strength. If Ryle wins this game they will have definitely earned it.

Ryle has had a great year, but is just too inexperienced to beat Boone at full strength. The only thing that can beat Boone in that game is a Gung-Ho official. No official has called carrying on their guard all year, so it would be unfair to Boone to start calling it now. The Bradley girl is a really good player. She plays calm, poised, is a scoring threat and is THE major player for Boone. As good as Behrens is, which is probably the best inside player in the region, Bradley controls the ball and the team. She also carrys the ball on practically every dribble with a cross-over to revial Iverson. It would be unfair to start calling that in the Tourney. But if they call that, she couldn't change her game that much, that quickly and it would take Boone's game away. Ryle wins if Bradley can't play. I hope an official doesn't do that to Boone.

Rarely see the carry call anymore. Most good PGs use that to their advantage.

What two players were "down" for Boone County? Behrens played 32 minutes and Bradley played 26 minutes. What other "key" players does Boone have?

That entire week Ryle had a few players out with the flu. So, you will need a better excuse than the "flu".

You are right, you win.

I take Boone by 10... atleast... Oliverio is a good coach no doubt, but she is no Fookes. I see some big number from Behrens and Bradley, hopefully!

I'm relatively new to the area, so I don't know the history very well. Has coach Fookes ever won anything outside of northern Kentucky? Anything on the state level?

You are exactly correct Oliverio is not Fookes, she took a nine win team from last year and turned it into a 21-6 team this year. She also did this with only one returning starter from last years squad. That is coaching not just putting pieces from various schools together. Ryle by 4 young players do not worry about losing they have four more years to play.

Lookes like we were all a little off, Boone won by 18!

Can you start a game thread.
