What is it I don't understand about Newport?

The Wildcats (Newport) appeared on the verge of blowing out the Brossart Mustangs on Monday at Newport before the Stangs rallied, and then fall to Pendleton County on the road on Tuesday.

This is the same Newport team who dispatched NCC earlier this year.

This has to be a huge win for Pendleton County, who lost by a point to Silver Grove recently.

Just goes again to show that is why we play the game and don't simply phone them in.

Congrats to Coach Sims and his troops!

Those are some strange results... Lose to Silver Grove, Beat Newport, who beat New Cath, Who beat Holmes... I guess by that logic Holmes shold fear the Big Trains...

Under this logic Silver Grove now has to become the top team in NKY. ;)Six degrees of seperation is all it takes....:thumb:

You can probably watch pregame and tell by the attitude of the players what the outcome of the game will be!

A big part of their win was that it was senior night @ Pendleton and all of the players were ready to play.

PC played a hot 1st quarter. With less than a minute to go in the 2nd quarter Newport was up by 3, but went to the locker room down by 4.

The game came down to the last minute. PC turned the ball over and Newport came down and took a 1 point lead. PC went down the floor and scored quickly on a lay up.

With 9-10 seconds left Newport made some quick passes took a shot that missed and got the rebound for a last second that rolled off the rim.

Both teams had bright moments, but each team gave up various opportunies to take complete control of the game.

Newport might be the most inconsistent team of the 9th region. Congrats to the PC Wildcats for the big win over a solid ballclub.

Does anyone know the box scores for this game?

Congrats Pendleton.

I agree... It seems like they could beat or get beat to any team on any given night...
