From the way it sounds, they might as well cancel the entire 6A season and engrave the trophy!

 

No, but he lost by three in OT to St. X. The big, heavy back is the toughest to stop. Eric S carried three Trinity tacklers 20 yards in their playoff game. Shaun Alexander was not a big, heavy back and Trinity was able to contain him and Boone County.

Upsets are always possible...i.e. Dixie Heights win in 2004. So, you can't engrave the trophy, but I still think it will be in Jefferson County....I realize I'm not really going out on a limb.

I do agree that those BIG backs DO help a team's chances to win the big ones. I watched Shelton play at Eatern High School in the first round of the playoffs his junior year (2000, I believe), they lost! It was like watching a man amongst boys except Eastern surprised everyone including me.

 

I was actually suggesting that the trophy be engraved with either an X or T!

That was just in response to all the posters saying one or the other, I guess you really can't blame them though!

T and X always bring the heat.

They are consistent winners and that is why I think a lot of publics pull against them. None of the publics have been able to bring that same type of consistency to their game, with the possible exception of Highlands in NK. Only catch is Highlands isn't 6A.

 

As far as the JC schools Male is about as consistent as they come, although they had a down year this past year. Manual keeps knocking at the door, but continues to struggle with offensive play calling. Some of the other bigger names in Jefferson County have had coaching changes (Butler and Ballard) so they need some rebuild time. Fern Creek's name comes up occasionally, next year will be the 2nd for their coach, I see them coming on. Who am I missing?

Two JC teams I omitted were PRP - coaching change this year - need time to rebuild and Eastern - always a threat but not able to bring it consistently. For Eastern they seem to always have two kids who can scoot. I'm not real sure why they don't threaten every year.

Seneca is pretty talented, and have some experience now to go along with the talent. I don't think they will beat Trinity for the district title, but I think they will finish second in the district, and could very win a playoff game or two.

We will just have to see. They looked pretty good in some 7on7's - but there were a whole lot of folks missing. As in, "the big 'uns up front who sing the hymns."
