Ryan Schrand- great guy. Dick Maile - great guy. Mike Listerman - great guy. The circumstances that led to them not being together are unfortunate. Assume for the sake of argument (because who really knows the whole story), that Coach Mike Listerman was totally wrong on the Kevin Listerman - Ryan Schrand (Dick Maile) situation. For the point of discussion I will assume Coach L. was wrong. Ok. Put that on the CON side of the ledger. Now, consider the PRO's - great coach, great teacher, great person, etc., etc., etc. Since the next Cov. Cath. coach will probably not be infallible (Pope Benedict XVI is otherwise committed and in any event would probably quit after the Colonel Crazies' first cheer) we are going to have to deal with imperfection. The alumni are not perfect alumni. I'll bet even most of the parents and fans have made a mistake or two along the way. Be satisfied that Cov. Cath. has a great (albeit not perfect) Coach. I hope he stays a long time.

I played for Coach Listerman at Highlands in the late 70's as a freshmen. There wasn't a better man on the court or off the court. I hated to see him leave when he did, he was made right out of the mold of Coach Shields.
