Who would want this job??? The revolving door at Breathitt continues!! I dont think Coach K could survive in Breathitt.

Who is Mr Back and Cecil Clair? I have never heard of them. This whole thread makes no sense. Kyle Lively is the only name that would remotely be a name of interest as a new coach at Breathitt and he doesn't seem to be as high on the list of big name coaches as he was when Jackson had their good tournament run. I find it hard to believe that the administration is recruiting new coaching candidates at this time. It is almost district tournament time, which Breathitt should win, and I don't see the administration causing ny distractions that may disrupt their chances of making the regional tournament again.

With the players Banks has now and all the hard times he has seen lately, he doesn't need this before tourn. time. I think he has done a good job with what he has. That's the problem, I think is wrong down at Breathitt is the Admin. won't leave the team along. I've known Banks for about 20 yrs. now and I know this is eating him up inside. Bank's has done things and handle problems that I don't understand, but he is the coach and the people don't need to start rumor's at this time of year. If you are a Bobcat fan get behind the Coaches and the team and give them your support. JMO!

I agree with the ville. The fans should get behind these kids that are playing and stop all the negative talk.

Banks and the Super are pretty tight, I have heard they are taking the A.D. job from Coach Halcomb and Banks will be the new A.D. and still be a staff member at Breathitt but not Coach. He will just do all the A.D. stuff and help out that way. I have heard Lively's name a lot too, but don't know if he has been talked to yet. And I do believe it is a little early for everyone to be talking about what is going to happen after this season is over, got a lot of it left. Breathitt has a big game with Wolfe county coming up.

I doubt this will happen. Breathitt County is a football school and they will not get rid of Mike Holcomb.

Who would want the job that has a decent job now? The lifespan isn't but a couple of years and the constant turmoil and scrutiny! I know Breathitt is rich in tradition and has a good number of kids every year but no one person has been able to keep the fans and administration happy there for quite some time.

I like Banks, Look at what he accomplished last season. Look at the players he has lost. Coaches cannot make players play. He has got caught up in a situation, Coaches cannot make everybody happy. Steve probaly will forget more basketball than a lot of people will ever know. This is just his second season. Give him time. I would be trying everyway to keep him if I could.

He played at breathitt with the fletcher twins and he coached jackson city in the late 90's.

I don't know of anything going on, but IF Banks is gone after this season, I'd think Kyle Lively would be the front runner if he wants it. Lively played for Breathitt, coached Jackson to a regional runner-up, and is doing a good job at Powell. Plus he is young and will be in the game for sometime now.

He played with the Fletcher and Morris twins, and Chaney, I believe, on the 1985 regional championship team. The Bobcats defeated Owsley County in the finals in Hyden, the only time the tournament was held at Leslie County. I don't think he started for Breathitt that year but he was one of the first guys off the bench.

I thought the same thing. That's why it struck me when it said "he won a regional championship". In addition, he coached the middle school team at Jackson City, not the high school, I think.
